Christians took part in what has been described as the largest baptism event in the nation’s history, held in California over the weekend. Around 12,000 individuals were immersed during the event, which took place on May 18 and 19 and was named Baptize California.
According to CBN News, crowds congregated for the event, which included a main-stage gathering at Huntington Beach with speakers and worship leaders.
“WE WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT GOD DID THIS WEEKEND. This is revival,” the Baptize California Facebook page wrote in a post Wednesday.
According to CBN, initial figures indicate that over 6,000 baptisms took place at Huntington Beach, with an additional 6,000 occurring at various churches in California.
A participant in the Huntington Beach event shared on social media that the event featured 60 stations for individuals to receive baptism.
During the extraordinary gathering, Pastor Mark Francey of Oceans Church expressed his belief in an impending Great Awakening, likening it to the scent of rain before a storm.
He declared that if God could bring about such transformation in a California church, it would surely spread throughout America.
Attendees at the event were observed engaging in prayer for one another, while others proudly displayed banners proclaiming “Jesus is King,” as captured in video footage.
Having previously organized the successful Baptize SoCal event in 2023, which saw nearly 4,200 baptisms, Francey had been diligently planning this recent gathering and is thrilled with its outcome.
“It was a surreal and extraordinary day! [It] felt like we were living in the pages of the books of Acts!” he added:

God’s flame needs to touch a lot of people. Just not exactly the one that was in California.
All the Glory to GOD!
