Hulk Hogan’s son, Nick Hogan, recently shared his heartfelt thoughts after the passing of his father, the legendary wrestling figure who he described as his “best friend” and “hero.” Nick posted a series of 20 photos on Instagram, capturing moments with his dad over the years, and added a touching caption to express his feelings. Hulk Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, passed away on Thursday after reportedly experiencing a cardiac arrest.
Nick Hogan reflected on the overwhelming emotions he’s been experiencing, sharing how the kind words and stories about his father’s life have provided some comfort. “My dad was the most incredible person I’ve ever known and will always be my hero,” he wrote. “He was the most kind, loving, and amazing father anybody could ask for.”
Nick moved back to Florida a few years ago to be closer to his father, cherishing the memories they created. He described these moments as the best of his life and expressed a yearning to have his father back, while also finding solace in the belief that his dad is watching over him. Nick is determined to carry forward the lessons and advice from his father in a way that would make him proud.
Nick expressed gratitude for having such a wonderful dad and best friend, saying, “I love you so much Big Dog and I will miss you forever.” Hulk Hogan was married to Linda Hogan, with whom he also shared a daughter, Brooke, before they divorced in 2007. The Hogan family was prominently featured in the VH1 reality show “Hogan Knows Best” from 2005 to 2007.
Nick’s wife, Tana Lee, also paid tribute to her father-in-law, sharing a photo from her wedding day in January and other memories on Instagram. Tributes have been pouring in from various quarters, including former wrestling colleagues, celebrities, family, and friends, all remembering the vibrant personality Hogan embodied both in and out of the ring.
WWE acknowledged the loss, stating, “WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away,” highlighting his role in elevating WWE’s global recognition during the 1980s. The organization sent condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.
Hogan was gearing up for a new venture with former pro wrestling executive Eric Bischoff called Real American Freestyle, aimed at promoting freestyle wrestling. He had also shown political involvement, supporting President Donald Trump at various events.
Real American Freestyle CEO and co-founder Chad Bronstein expressed his sorrow, stating, “We lost our Commissioner. We lost a friend. And the sport of wrestling lost one of its greatest champions, not just in the ring, but in spirit.”
Hogan believed wrestling was more than just a show; he saw it as a brotherhood and a stage for greatness. He was dedicated to the Real American Freestyle league, engaging with athletes and contributing his unique energy to the cause. The league, a significant part of his legacy, aims to honor his memory and the impact he left behind.
