Trump Agenda Deserves To Continue, Ingraham Argues After Midterms

Checklist: Trump’s political durability and the rise of conservative populism. The economy’s strength under Trump-era policies. America’s edge over other major economies. A tougher foreign policy against China and Iran. The social wins tied to abortion, the border, and the courts.

“This is the end of Trumpism!” “Conservative Populism, RIP.” “Goodbye, MAGA!” Those victory-lap declarations pop up every time the Left thinks it has finally buried Trump. They were wrong after impeachment, wrong after 2020, wrong after January 6, and wrong after every indictment, too.

The latest round of hand-wringing is just as hollow. Midterm losses or gains do not erase a record that has reshaped the GOP and left the broader right far more confident than it was before Trump came along. The real question is simple: has the Trump agenda made the country stronger?

On politics, the answer is hard to dodge. For years, critics predicted Trump would break the Republican Party and leave conservatism in ruins. Instead, he dragged the whole movement into a louder, tougher, more competitive era while establishment-style conservatism kept fading across much of the West.

That matters because American voters are not stuck with the same old weak tea politics. Trump showed that a right-of-center movement can still win by backing lower taxes, less regulation, stronger borders, and a more unapologetic national identity. The old playbook kept losing to Democrats. This one keeps changing the map.

The economic story is even more striking. Populism was supposed to wreck growth, spook investors, and squeeze ordinary families. Instead, real household income climbed, inflation cooled, and the middle class ended up in a far better position than the critics said was possible.

That is not a small thing. Families care about groceries, rent, paychecks, and whether the government is constantly sticking its hand in their pockets. If the result is higher income, lower pressure, and less bureaucratic bloat, the attack lines start sounding pretty thin.

There is also the global angle, and this is where the contrast gets sharp. Trump’s approach treated China as a rival to beat, not a partner to trust blindly. Tariffs, pressure on strategic choke points, and a renewed focus on military strength all came from the same basic idea: America should stop acting like decline is normal.

That shift has real consequences. A country that keeps its industrial base, defends its interests, and refuses to hand Beijing easy wins is a country that still expects to matter. The same goes for the wider economy, where the United States remains far ahead of peer nations in output and living standards.

In the Middle East, the pattern is similar. Trump’s foreign policy was loud, hard-edged, and focused on leverage rather than sermons. Iran got the message, regional pressure changed, and the nightmare scenarios about closed shipping lanes and runaway chaos never fully materialized.

Then there is the social front, where Trump did what decades of Republican promises could not. Roe v. Wade is gone, the border is locked down in a way most voters never expected to see, and the Supreme Court now leans decisively conservative on the biggest constitutional fights.

That is why so many activists are furious. They were promised a slow fade, a Republican retreat, and a return to the old rules. Instead, Trump forced a reset, and the issues that once lived in campaign speeches became actual results.

Democrats know they cannot really run against that record, so they run against the man instead. Their pitch is not stronger growth, safer streets, or a steadier world. It is revenge, pure and simple, dressed up as progress.

Voters can feel the difference between a movement that wants to build and a movement that wants to punish. Trump’s coalition may not be polite, and it may not satisfy every instinct of the old political class, but it speaks to a country tired of being lectured while its leaders fail upward. That tension is not going away any time soon.
