According to the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service, the intercept was handled without incident after the F-16 signaled the aircraft and escorted it away. NORAD also put out a blunt reminder for civilian pilots: if a military interceptor shows up, contact 121.5 or 243.0 right away and reverse course until further instructions come through. That kind of guidance is meant to prevent a tense moment from becoming a dangerous one.
The agency reinforced that warning on X, urging pilots to check NOTAMs before takeoff so they know where temporary flight restrictions are active. The message was simple and direct: stay safe, fly informed, and do not wander into restricted airspace by accident or by bad planning.
Video from nearby incidents has already shown how quickly these encounters can unfold, with fighter jets closing in on small aircraft near Trump’s Bedminster golf club in New Jersey earlier in the week. Those flights were also linked to temporary restrictions, showing how often restricted zones can turn into real-world headaches for general aviation.
Camp David has seen this kind of drama before. A plane was intercepted there in June as well, and that pilot was also escorted away without further trouble.
