Author Coleman Hughes swiftly responded to “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin on Wednesday, rejecting her accusations of him being a conservative “pawn” and “charlatan.”
During a discussion about his book, “The End of Race Politics: Arguments for a Colorblind America,” Hughes emphasized the importance of treating people without regard to race and using socioeconomics rather than race as a means to understand disadvantage.
Despite receiving applause from the audience for his argument, Hostin challenged him.
Hostin, who recently discovered her ancestors owned slaves, disagreed with Hughes’ perspective, asserting that race is inherently linked to socioeconomic inequality.
Hughes countered by advocating for a plan similar to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of a “bill of rights for the disadvantaged,” aimed at assisting all impoverished Americans.
The exchange led to an unexpected shift in the conversation on the show.
Hostin asserted that MLK did not agree with Hughes’ arguments. She went on to state that MLK advocated for reparations for black people, suggesting that her perspective is more authoritative due to her connection with MLK’s daughter.
‘
Hostin proceeded to launch a personal attack on Hughes after the failed attempt to use an appeal to authority.
“Your argument for color-blindness is something that the right has co-opted,” Hostin said. “So many in the black community — if I’m being honest with you, because I want to be — believe that you are being used as a pawn by the right and that you’re a charlatan of sorts.”

Hughes wasted no time in demanding that Hostin provide evidence to support her claims, with co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin pointing out that Hughes is not affiliated with the Republican party.
When Hostin failed to identify any specific individuals making the accusations she mentioned, Hughes set the record straight.
“I don’t think I’ve been co-opted by anyone. I’ve only voted twice — both for Democrats. Although I’m an independent, I would vote for a Republican, probably a non-Trump Republican if they were compelling. I don’t think there’s any evidence I’ve been co-opted by anyone, and I think that’s an ad hominem tactic people use to not address the important conversations we’re having here,” he said
“There’s no evidence that I’ve been co-opted by anyone,” Hughes explained. “I have an independent podcast. I work for CNN as an analyst. I write for the Free Press. I’m independent in all of these endeavors, and no one is paying me to say what I’m saying. I’m saying it because I feel it.”

I’ll bet that that leftist “witch” did not apologize for her unwarranted attack on Coleman Hughes; BUT SHE SURELY SHOULD HAVE. Assuming that al people of color should spout the same narrative, play the victim of white oppression, and only vote for Democrats is presumptuous in the extreme.
Anyone who votes for Democraps is showing IGNORANCE and that they also suffer from a mental illness. What makes me say this well the IGNORANCE part is they buy the LIE Democraps have been spewing all my Life namely that they will tax the Rich. Well guess what Democraps and their donors are the Rich and most of those who are called the Super Rich. The Mentally Ill part is they vote Democrapic over and over again hoping that the Democraps will actually tax the Rich but it never happens. The definition of INSANITY doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome every time. As for him saying he would vote for a Republican other than Trump I say unless it was one who refused to approve the CHEATING that put Pedo Joe in office he is just voting for a Democrap’s RECTUM SUCKING PUPPETS. Those on the View are such creatures.
As far as your view on the politics, I agree. My issue with your rant is the language used that will be used to show that republicans/conservatives are extremists. Really, try putting this out without the vulgarity and the message will be at least palpable.
WHY would anybody watch this crappy little show? Low IQ?
Why do you people keep giving these lunatics any press at all?
