Shedeur Sanders found himself in a bit of hot water during the offseason with a couple of speeding tickets. He got caught driving 91 mph in a 65-mph zone, and just two weeks later, he was clocked at 101 mph in a 60-mph area. Unfortunately, he missed his court dates for both incidents. Sanders has since acknowledged his mistakes, and it appears that Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry has been guiding him through the consequences of his actions.

Berry didn’t mince words when talking to reporters, stating, “Not smart. Just not smart,” regarding Sanders’ speeding tickets. The GM emphasized that the situation had been addressed with Sanders, and he made it clear that the young quarterback understands the gravity of his actions. Berry pointed out the dangers of reckless driving, highlighting the risk of potential harm to others and the unpredictable nature of the road.

Sanders himself addressed the situation while attending a charity softball game hosted by his teammate David Njoku. At the event, Sanders candidly admitted, “I made some wrong choices personally, and I can own up to them.” He expressed that he had learned from his mistakes and is keen on moving forward positively.

Despite these off-field issues, Sanders is fighting for a spot on the Cleveland Browns roster. The team took a chance on him, picking him in the fifth round of the NFL Draft, which was a surprising turn of events given that he was once projected as a top-five pick. His draft position was notably affected as even a former teammate, Dillon Gabriel, was selected before him in the third round.

At the Browns’ rookie minicamp, Sanders is working hard, although he’s mostly taking reps with the third-string team. As it stands, he’s competing against Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel for a spot, but he’s the only one who hasn’t had a chance with the first team yet. It’s a tough road ahead, but he’s determined to prove himself.

Meanwhile, Sanders is hopeful about his future with the Browns and is focused on making an impression during training sessions. He knows the competition is stiff, but he’s ready to put in the work and showcase his skills. Sanders’ goal is to earn the trust of the coaching staff and see more action on the field.

Fans are watching closely to see how Sanders performs in the upcoming season, especially after his tumultuous offseason. The young quarterback is well aware of the expectations surrounding him and is eager to rise to the occasion. With the right mindset and dedication, he hopes to make a significant impact on the team.

As Sanders continues his journey with the Browns, he’s likely drawing on the support of his teammates and coaches to guide him through this challenging time. The pressure is on, but with his talent and determination, there’s potential for him to turn things around. It remains to be seen how his career will unfold, but Sanders is undoubtedly committed to giving it his all.
