Trump Vows Executive Order to Dismantle Domestic Terror Networks After Dallas ICE Shooting and Urges Democrats to Stop Anti-ICE Rhetoric

Trump Reacts to Shooting at ICE Facility, Doubles Down on GOP Calls for Dems to Stop Violent Rhetoric

A shooting at an ICE field office in Dallas put a harsh spotlight back on violent rhetoric aimed at law enforcement. President Trump and Republican leaders wasted no time calling out what they see as a dangerous trend of demonizing ICE and other officers. The argument is blunt: words have consequences and the rhetoric must stop.

The episode took a chilling twist when investigators revealed anti-ICE messages on the shooter’s shell casings. That detail has Republicans seizing the moment to demand accountability from those who fan the flames. Conservatives say this isn’t about politics, it’s about protecting people who enforce the law.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared the president’s reaction, and it landed hard and clear. Trump framed the attack as part of a broader pattern of threats and violence against immigration officers. His response reads like a warning shot aimed at Democrats and the media who, he says, normalize attacks on law enforcement.

“This is despicable!” Trump wrote. “The Brave Men and Women of ICE are just trying to do their jobs, and remove the ‘WORST of the WORST’ Criminals out of our Country, but they are facing an unprecedented increase in threats, violence, and attacks by Deranged Radical Leftists.”

“This violence is the result of the Radical Left Democrats constantly demonizing Law Enforcement, calling for ICE to be demolished, and comparing ICE Officers to ‘Nazis,'” he added. “The continuing violence from Radical Left Terrorists, in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, must be stopped. ICE Officers, and other Brave Members of Law Enforcement, are under grave threat.”

“We have already declared ANTIFA a Terrorist Organization, and I will be signing an Executive Order this week to dismantle these Domestic Terrorism Networks,” the president continued. “I AM CALLING ON ALL DEMOCRATS TO STOP THIS RHETORIC AGAINST ICE AND AMERICA’S LAW ENFORCEMENT, RIGHT NOW! The Trump Administration is fully committed to backing Law Enforcement, Strong Borders, securing our Homeland, deporting Violent Illegal Criminals, and fully rooting out the Left Wing Domestic Terrorism that is terrorizing our Country. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Republicans have been consistent: rhetoric that dehumanizes officers leads to real-world violence. That is the core of the GOP response here, and it’s meant to be stark and unambiguous. The call is simple — stop encouraging attacks, and leaders must lead responsibly.

Leaders Speak Out

Senator Ted Cruz cut to the chase at a press appearance, calling for decency across the political aisle. As my RedState colleague Nick Arama reported following the shooting, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said, “This needs to stop. Politically motivated violence is wrong.”

“It was two weeks ago today that we saw a political assassination [of Charlie Kirk] in Utah that tore the heart out of much of this country,” Cruz said,

“This is the third shooting in Texas directed at ICE or CBP. This must stop. To every politician demonizing ICE and demonizing CBP, stop,” he added. To every politician demanding that ICE agents be doxxed and calling for people to go after their families, stop. This has very real consequences…Your political opponents are not Nazis.”

“And we ought to come together and have some decency across the political aisle to say this violence is wrong and it needs to stop,” Cruz continued. Those words are meant to cut through partisan noise and make the moral case for restraint. Republicans are pushing that message hard, insisting it’s nonnegotiable.

Vice President J.D. Vance echoed the hardline stance while campaigning in North Carolina, warning that violent rhetoric removes anyone’s place in serious politics. As my colleague Mike Miller wrote, during an event in North Carolina on Wednesday, Vice President J.D. Vance “went off on the insanity, while speaking about the ICE-related shooting — in no uncertain terms.” He said:

If your political rhetoric encourages violence against our law enforcement, you can go straight to hell, and you have no place in the political conversation of the United States of America!

Vance’s tone matched the urgency from the White House and Senate Republicans. The message is punitive and moral at once: if you incite violence, you forfeit your platform. That approach is resonating with voters worried about safety and law and order.

The article also highlighted a wild appearance by California’s governor on a late-night show that Republicans say fuels the problem. In a quoted passage from our reporting, the governor allegedly went on a “wild anti-ICE rant” and used incendiary language about both ICE and President Trump. Conservatives point to moments like that as proof the left’s rhetoric can cross a dangerous line.

As I reported, California Gov. Gavin Newsom went on a wild anti-ICE rant on Tuesday night’s Stephen Colbert’s show, claiming they were disappearing people off the street without due process. He also demonized President Donald Trump, calling him a “son of a b***h” and saying he didn’t think he was going to allow another election.

But he’s not the only one – there have been many politicians and many more in the leftist media. ICE is enforcing the law. It’s Democrats who are acting contrary to the rule of law and contrary to the best interests of the American people, just because they want to attack Trump.

This is a culture war argument dressed as public safety policy, and Republicans are making the connection explicit. Protecting officers, securing borders, and enforcing the law are framed as commonsense priorities that get lost when rhetoric turns violent. Conservatives are using the shooting to demand a national conversation about responsibility and consequences.

The broader theme here is accountability at every level, from media to elected officials. If words can inspire violence, then leaders must be held to a higher standard of speech. Republicans see this as a moment to reclaim the narrative about law and order and to press Democrats to tone down attacks that can spill into real threats.

Finally, the party is asking for concrete measures: tougher penalties for doxxing and clearer condemnations of violent rhetoric. The White House teed up executive action on domestic terror networks and promised aggressive enforcement. For the GOP, the answer is twofold: defend those who keep us safe, and force a reset in how political opponents talk about them.

That is the bottom line Republicans want voters to remember: safety first, rhetoric second. If Democrats truly care about preventing violence, the party must change its tone and tactics. Until then, expect Republicans to keep pushing this message loudly and relentlessly.
