Former Trump Border Czar Tom Homan has launched a scathing critique of New York Governor Kathy Hochul following a gruesome murder on the New York City subway. The horrifying incident involved an illegal immigrant who reportedly set a woman on fire, watching her burn to death in an unprovoked attack.
Homan, appearing on Fox & Friends this week, did not hold back in blaming the state’s sanctuary policies for enabling such tragedies. His pointed remarks directed at Governor Hochul come amid rising concerns over safety and immigration enforcement in major cities.
The shocking murder unfolded on a subway platform, where witnesses described the assailant, an illegal immigrant, setting the victim ablaze without provocation. The incident has shaken the city, reigniting debates over the role of sanctuary policies in public safety.
Hours after the tragedy, Governor Hochul posted on X (formerly Twitter) touting reduced subway crime statistics. Her remarks included a reference to deploying 750 National Guard members to patrol subway systems in a bid to curb holiday-related crimes.
However, Hochul’s post came across as tone-deaf to many, including Homan, who blasted the governor for her timing and perceived indifference to the murder.
“Governor Hochul, shame on you. There’s nothing you can say that’s going to make this right in New York,” Homan declared on Fox & Friends. He criticized Hochul’s support for sanctuary status in New York, accusing her of prioritizing political agendas over public safety.
“This is yet another example of an illegal alien killing an American citizen. It’s almost a daily occurrence now,” Homan said, adding that the nation’s immigration policies and sanctuary laws have created an environment where criminal aliens roam freely.
Homan pointed to what he sees as a systemic failure:
“A historic number of criminal aliens are walking the streets because of this administration’s policy in sanctuary jurisdictions and lax immigration enforcement.”
Hochul has been a vocal proponent of New York’s sanctuary policies, which limit cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities. Critics argue that these policies make it harder for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to detain and deport individuals who pose a threat to public safety.
In her social media post, Hochul attempted to focus on improvements in subway safety:
“Subway crime is down since we deployed the National Guard earlier this year. We’re taking action to make sure New Yorkers feel safe this holiday season,” she wrote.
However, the timing of the post, coming just hours after the murder, has drawn sharp criticism. Many argue it demonstrates a disconnect between the governor’s priorities and the concerns of New Yorkers.
This tragedy is part of a larger national conversation about the impact of sanctuary policies. Supporters of these policies argue that they foster trust between immigrant communities and local authorities, encouraging undocumented residents to report crimes without fear of deportation.
Critics like Homan, however, contend that sanctuary policies tie the hands of law enforcement, preventing them from detaining dangerous individuals before they commit serious crimes.
“This administration and leaders in sanctuary jurisdictions have created an open invitation for criminal aliens to come here,” Homan said. “The result is more American lives lost.”
The murder has sparked widespread outrage, with New Yorkers calling for immediate changes to the city’s and state’s policies. Community advocates argue that public safety should take precedence over political ideologies.
Governor Hochul has not directly addressed Homan’s comments but defended her efforts to improve subway safety. In a follow-up statement, her office emphasized that the state has taken significant steps to reduce crime across the board.
Meanwhile, the family of the victim is demanding accountability, both for the crime and the policies that allowed the perpetrator to remain in the country.
Homan concluded his remarks with a stark warning:
“This is what happens when you prioritize politics over people. Americans are dying because of these policies, and it’s got to stop. Leaders like Governor Hochul need to wake up and take responsibility.”
As the debate over sanctuary laws continues, this tragedy serves as a grim reminder of the real-world consequences of policy decisions. Whether New York will reexamine its stance on sanctuary status remains to be seen, but for now, the city is left grappling with the fallout of this horrifying crime.

Hochul was an installed not elected via the Governor Andrew Cuomo debacle and departure from office as a puppet of the Globalist Elite and serves Satan! She even said during the height of the Plan-demic that God told her to recruit apostles to go out and convince the Un-vaccinated, to coerce them, into taking the jab! She literally has been serving Satan and this horrible case is clear evidence of this! I just commented about evil Fauci elsewhere on this site and I include that comment because it applies to Hochul who was and is an apostle of Fauci and his cabal so the same violations and punishment apply to her!
Fauci is NOTHING less than a modern day Josef Mengele the Nazi War Criminal Madman that experimented on animals and humans who was absolutely involved in Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity! This evil bastard is walking around free with the Millions $ he made selling out America and its Citizens as well as the human race! He should be tried and executed as per the US Constitution, and ICC Nuremberg Code of International Crimes!
Rang Paul and the rest of the Congressional members better go after these monsters with actions that have real teeth to take them down ASAP or they are just as guilty as the perpetrators!
God indeed has the final say in everything and there will be no escaping the eternal punishment due!
Typo* (Rand Paul) and the rest of the Congressional members better go after these monsters
Hochul’s definition of subway safety is slightly different from those folks riding the subway. It’s likely the Danial Penny effect where the unjust prosecution of Danial Penny kept people from saving the burning woman. Said another way, if someone put out the fire, then Fat Alvin Bragg would prosecute that person for interfering in a police matter. America just doesn’t exist anymore. watch what the left does to stop Trump from carrying out his mandate. Trump just said that he will hit the ground running–that his administration will be fully operational by 2 PM on January 20, 2025. As soon as he takes the oath of office, his administration will be hit with multiple lawsuits to halt deportation and other actions designed to reverse the destruction Biden/Harris has wrought. Trump should launch his own lawsuits to obtain Biden’s DNA, fingerprints and do a voice analysis to prove that the Biden we see every day is a fake–an actor in a latex mask pretending to be Biden.
I just stated elsewhere on this site the reality I see!
Ty; that is more than likely what it will take (Citizen Deportation Armies Enlisted by the President); and sure why not many of us would want in on that plan if they get it going! It must get done because the Demoncraps for the last four years flooded our nation with mostly undesirables illegally to alter the country for the worse and we must reverse this mess, or it will be altered and too late to fix it! Many Demoncraps should be sent to prison for doing this! But where are the real cojones and intestinal fortitude in leadership now to get her done?
