Mamdani’s New York Mayoral Campaign Collected Thousands in Illegal Donations
Records now show that socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral campaign took in thousands of dollars from donors outside the United States, a wrinkle the campaign can’t afford with Election Day looming. The timing gives opponents something they’ll use, and voters deserve answers fast.
Lefty socialist and mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani’s campaign quietly took in nearly $13,000 in potentially illegal foreign donations — including one from his mother-in-law in Dubai, The Post has learned.
At least 170 of the nearly 54,000 contributions to the leading Democratic candidate’s campaign came from donors with addresses outside the United States, an examination of NYC Campaign Finance Board records found.
The Post presents a long list of illegal Mamdani donors. New York’s Campaign Finance Board is reportedly auditing all of the campaigns city-wide. That’s going to take some time – and as I noted, the election is in three weeks. While this is a troubling revelation to anyone who cares about, you know, the rule of law, this isn’t an issue that carries a lot of weight with the left. If cheating helps them win, then so be it, and New York is a blue city. So, it looks like Zohran Mamdani is still leading in the final straightaway, with nothing in his path.
Then, there’s this:
A campaign spokesperson, however, declined to clarify why so many foreign donations are still in Mamdani’s war chest.

Foreign contributions are barred at the federal and city level because they invite outside influence and corrupt the fundraising process. When a campaign shows dozens of contributions with foreign addresses, it raises questions about internal compliance and who was watching the books.
City audits are slow and methodical, which leaves a political vacuum in the weeks before the vote. That gap allows opponents to frame the story and the campaign to dodge hard questions.
The campaign spokesperson declined to clarify why the foreign donations remain in the war chest, and that silence says something. Voters deserve more than a shrug when a candidate’s financial records show red flags.
Left-leaning voters may brush this off, but voters across the city care about the rule of law and fair play. If the left’s strategy is ‘end justifies the means’, New York risks normalizing shortcuts.
Accountability isn’t only about fines or technicalities; it’s about trust and whether candidates follow the same laws as everyone else. The finance board’s findings and the campaign’s answers will both matter at the ballot box.
