Karl-Anthony Towns And Jalen Brunson Ignite WWE Show At MSG

Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden turned into a loud, chaotic love letter to New York basketball, with Knicks stars stepping into the WWE spotlight and giving the crowd something to scream about. Karl-Anthony Towns threw his weight behind Danhausen in a no-disqualification brawl, while Jalen Brunson got pulled into the action later in the night as the whole building buzzed like it had playoff energy.

The night had that classic MSG feel, where sports and spectacle collide and nobody in the room wants to sit still. Danhausen leaned all the way into the madness, calling on Towns to help and bringing a strange, funny edge to a match that quickly got physical. That kind of crossover works when the crowd buys in, and this one absolutely did.

Towns did more than just stand around and pose. He jumped into the chaos, backed up Danhausen, and helped swing the momentum in a match that was already spiraling toward pure mayhem. When Danhausen “cursed” Mysterio and told Towns to do his worst, the moment felt less like a cameo and more like a full-on invasion from the basketball side of the building.

From there, things got even wilder. The 7-footer delivered a chokeslam to McDonagh and then sent Mysterio through a table, which sent the Garden into full roar mode. That’s the kind of scene that reminds people why MSG stays such a special place, because the building doesn’t just host moments, it seems to amplify them.

But Towns was only part of the night’s Knicks flavor. Brunson’s presence gave the event another jolt, especially once Seth Rollins’ music hit and the mood shifted from surprise to full-blown tension. The crowd was already primed, and once the ring started filling up, the energy only got sharper.

Instead of Roman Reigns’ expected SummerSlam challenger, Tyrese Haliburton walked out with a chair, adding another layer to the surprise-filled sequence. That opened the door for Rollins to rush in and hammer away at Reigns, turning the segment into a fast-moving mess that felt both scripted and completely out of control. Brunson then stepped between them before things escalated further, and the fans responded with chants of “MVP” as the show closed out.

Brunson’s connection to WWE didn’t come out of nowhere, either. He has already made it clear he’s a serious fan, and he has even talked about how he and a trainer “acknowledge” Reigns before games. That kind of detail matters because it gives these appearances a little extra snap, like the athletes in the ring are not just guests but true believers.

He has also already spent time in the ring during a previous angle with Haliburton, so this latest Madison Square Garden appearance fit right into a growing pattern. The Knicks have been weaving themselves into wrestling culture in a way that feels natural, not forced, and the crowd seems to love every second of it.

What made the night pop was how seamless it all felt once the action started rolling. The Garden became a playground for noise, personality, and a little bit of basketball pride, with WWE favorites getting real backup from local stars who knew exactly how to play to the room. By the time the final moments hit, the Knicks had become part of the show’s heartbeat, and the building was still buzzing long after the biggest blows landed.
