The Biden-Harris administration is facing criticism for allegedly diverting $1.4 billion in FEMA funds, originally intended for disaster relief, toward housing for illegal and legal migrants, according to a report by the New York Post. This redirection of funds is said to have severely impacted FEMA’s ability to respond to natural disasters, such as the ongoing crisis in the U.S. Southeast.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently revealed that FEMA is running low on resources, stating the agency “does not have the funds” to support Americans through the remainder of the Atlantic hurricane season. Critics argue that the administration’s prioritization of migrants over U.S. citizens is to blame, as the open-border policies continue to strain federal resources.
Concerns have been raised that these diverted funds are being used for luxury accommodations for migrants, including apartments equipped with flat-screen TVs. This has sparked outrage, with many accusing the administration of putting the needs of migrants ahead of American citizens, particularly those facing life-threatening disasters.
Adding to the controversy, a SpaceX engineer in North Carolina recently claimed that FEMA is “actively blocking shipments” of relief supplies intended for storm-affected areas, further fueling criticism of the administration’s handling of both the border crisis and disaster management.
As hurricane season continues, the redirection of these funds is leaving many wondering if FEMA will have the resources necessary to provide adequate relief to U.S. citizens in need.
“Connect the dots, if you can,” Tim Murtaugh, an adviser to former President Trump’s campaign, wrote on X, adding, “DHS says FEMA might not have enough cash to help people through hurricane season. But in 2 years of a new Biden-Harris program, they’ve spent $1 BILLION on housing and other services for migrants.”

Shedding a whole heck of a lot of color on the situation, Savanah Hernandez, a reporter for Turning Point USA, wrote on X that she has uncovered some of the “first looks” inside fully furnished luxury apartments for migrants that received free rent and utilities for two years.
Hernandez wrote in a note on The Post Millennial:

“This apartment is in the same county which received $6.1 mill in funding from the FEMA program that spent $1 billion on housing migrants,” Hernandez pointed out on X.

Biden-Harris administration has prioritized illegal and legal aliens over citizens. The botched relief response in the US Southeast exemplifies this great failure unfolding in a Katrina-like event.
