Joe Biden appeared less energetic the day following his intense State of the Union address on Thursday night.

He stumbled when questioned by a reporter about his accurate description of José Ibarra, the accused killer of University of Georgia student Laken Riley, as an “illegal” immigrant.

Ibarra had entered the U.S. illegally in 2022 with his wife and had been granted parole by the Biden administration.

Video posted by the RNC. Biden, “Well, I probably, uhhhh, I don’t re— it, uhhh, aghhh, technically not supposed to be here…”

During the State of the Union address, Biden deviated from his prepared remarks when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) insisted that he mention the name of Laken Riley.

Prior to this, Greene had approached Biden as he arrived at the House chamber and presented him with a button bearing Riley’s name.

MTG hands Joe Biden a Laken Riley pin as he enters Chamber to deliver his SOTU Address.

During his speech, Greened interrupted Biden and in response, Biden held up the button and addressed Riley as “Lincoln” instead of her actual name.

This was the first time Biden publicly attempted to  mention Laken Riley’s name.

Goaded by Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, US President Joe Biden went off script in his State of the Union address to talk about the case of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old student, who was allegedly murdered by an undocumented immigrant https://t.co/zpYv7287UM pic.twitter.com/CZNf6EnuxG

Former Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and other Democrats criticized Biden for referring to Riley’s accused killer as an “illegal.”

Mitch Landrieu, co-chair of Biden’s reelection campaign, suggested that Biden should have chosen a different word.

Punchbowl News reported members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus are also upset with Biden.
