Alexandra Hildebrandt, a 66-year-old woman from Germany, has recently welcomed her 10th child, a son named Philipp. Hildebrandt, who owns the Wall Museum at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin, gave birth to her new baby on March 19. Remarkably, all of her children, including Philipp, were born via C-section, with most arriving after she turned 50. Her oldest child, Svetlana, is 45, and her youngest, before Philipp, is Katharina, who is 2 years old.

In a chat with TODAY, Hildebrandt mentioned that she didn’t rely on fertility drugs and had no trouble conceiving. Despite the challenges that come with age, she expressed her joy, stating she feels as youthful as 35. Professor Wolfgang Henrich from the Berlin Charite Hospital, where Philipp was born, said her age and number of C-sections are quite rare in the field of obstetric medicine.

Hildebrandt’s lifestyle seems to play a vital role in her ability to manage pregnancies well. She follows a healthy diet, swims for an hour, runs for two hours regularly, and stays away from smoking and drinking. Her doctor emphasized her strong physical and mental health, which contributed to an uncomplicated pregnancy.

Her views on family life are clear; she believes society should encourage having more children. Hildebrandt feels that many people change their perspective once they interact with kids, suggesting a need for more child-friendly attitudes. She maintains that living healthily and staying active are key to her well-being.

According to Dr. Alex Robles of Columbia University Fertility Center, pregnancies at Hildebrandt’s age are quite rare. He shared that the chance of conceiving naturally after 45 is below 5%, and most women reach menopause between ages 50 and 55. Dr. Shahin Ghadir, a fertility specialist in Beverly Hills, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the biological improbability of conceiving naturally at 66 without medical help like IVF.

Ghadir pointed out that freezing eggs, which is now common, wasn’t a widely available option when Hildebrandt was in her late 40s. He also mentioned the heightened health risks for women over 35 who become pregnant, such as gestational diabetes and hypertension. These factors make late-age pregnancies particularly risky and generally not recommended.

The news of Hildebrandt’s latest addition has sparked conversations about fertility and the limits of natural conception at advanced maternal ages. Experts agree that while her case is exceptional, it shouldn’t be seen as a common possibility due to the associated health concerns. Despite the odds, Hildebrandt’s story illustrates a unique blend of personal health choices and extraordinary circumstances.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Hildebrandt for additional comments on her extraordinary journey into motherhood at this stage of life. Angelica Stabile, a lifestyle reporter, continues to follow stories like these, shedding light on the diverse experiences of individuals worldwide.
