Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy Agrees to Trump’s Deal Proposal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed optimism about reaching an agreement with President Donald Trump to resolve the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Trump, during his campaign, had committed to fostering global peace, a stark contrast to the multiple foreign conflicts that escalated under the Biden-Harris administration.

Zelenskyy told Reuters he was open to negotiating with the U.S. over Trump’s interest in Ukraine providing rare earths and minerals in return for financial aid.

“The deposits we have are of immense value, and protecting them is crucial,” Zelenskyy emphasized. He seemed eager to strike a deal, stating, “If we are talking about a deal, then let’s do a deal, we are only for it.”

The war between Russia and Ukraine has persisted for over two years, with the Biden-Harris administration earmarking $175 billion in aid to Ukraine without any clear resolution in sight.

Last year, Ukraine proposed a “victory plan” which included inviting allies to invest in its vital mineral sectors. This plan suggested a strategic approach to leveraging Ukraine’s resources, as reported by Reuters. The conflict’s toll on Ukraine’s resources has been significant, with Russian forces controlling less than 20% of Ukraine’s mineral wealth, including nearly half of its rare earth deposits.

Zelenskyy voiced concerns about Russia potentially negotiating with North Korea and Iran. He highlighted the importance of protecting Ukraine’s abundant Dnipro region, particularly central Ukraine. Just after his election, Trump cautioned Russian President Vladimir Putin against exacerbating the conflict with Ukraine.

This conversation with Putin followed a meeting between Trump, Elon Musk from the Department of Government Efficiency, and Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy reportedly felt satisfied after the discussion.

“We will protect those trillions,” Zelenskyy assured, emphasizing the need to prevent Russia from exploiting these minerals.

He underscored the critical role of the U.S. in supporting Ukraine. Zelenskyy remarked, “The Americans helped the most, and therefore the Americans should earn the most.” He also stressed that the U.S. should have a priority role in Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts.

As the situation unfolds, the path to peace remains uncertain, but the dialogue between Ukraine and the U.S. seems promising. Zelenskyy’s approach reflects a pragmatic strategy focused on both economic and territorial security. His readiness to negotiate with Trump could be a pivotal moment in the ongoing geopolitical struggle.

The potential deal could shift the balance of power in the region, especially concerning resource control.

Zelenskyy’s willingness to collaborate with Trump underscores a significant shift in Ukraine’s diplomatic strategy. The focus remains on securing Ukraine’s future while maintaining strong international alliances.

Thus far, the Biden-Harris administration’s financial support has been substantial, but the desired peace remains elusive. Zelenskyy’s openness to negotiation with Trump represents a new chapter in Ukraine-U.S. relations.

The world watches closely as these discussions unfold, potentially redefining the geopolitical landscape in Eastern Europe.

I am not sure about Zelensky’s economic figures, but I have in mind that
about 70% of these “PRECIOUS MINERALS” lie in DonBass in Donezk, Dnipro und Luhansk.
And don’t forget: DonBas and Krym went INDEPENDENT!
AND THE DONBASS PEOPLE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN RUSSIAN – even if the German Army did, in 1918, “DONATE THEM” (with their land) LIKE SLAVES TO UKRAINE! They never said “YES”!
AND WHEN OBAMA’S POST MAIDAN REGIME BANNED THEIR LANGUAGE, THEY SECEDED! BEFORE HIS, UKRAINIAN NATIONALISTS KILLED DOZENS OF DONBASS PEOPLE – THE FIRST STEP TO ETHNIC CLEANSING -as in other “German gifts” like Polish Galicia and Volhynia!
SO, THESE PEOPLE WANT THEIR LANGUAGE, CULTURE, RELIGION – ALL FORBIDDEN NOW!
So, Pres. Trump: See that they get all that back – and decide where they want to be –
AND THEN, TALK TO THEM ABOUT LITHIUM AND ALL THAT! And Zelensky a bit, too.
