Tennessee Deploys National Guard Soldiers to Help Texas as State Battles to Secure the Border

A significant number of soldiers from the Tennessee National Guard are being deployed to Texas to aid in border security efforts against the Biden administration.

Governor Bill Lee and his wife recently visited these soldiers at the Millington Tennessee Army National Guard Armory before their deployment.

Governor Lee had previously committed to sending two waves of Tennessee troops to support Texas, with the first wave comprising 50 members staying until March, to be replaced by a second wave later this spring.

These forces will enhance security along the Texas border with Mexico. Maj. Gen. Ross brought more positive news to Texas upon his arrival at the armory.

Addressing several dozen troops who had volunteered for a border deployment, Ross disclosed that while he had requested 100 soldiers to volunteer, an astounding 400 stepped forward to offer their assistance, a four-fold increase from expectations.

In a statement acquired by WKRN, Lee underscored the direct impact on Tennessee’s seven million residents due to the events in Texas, specifically citing drug trafficking and human trafficking. He expressed gratitude to the patriotic guardsmen for their response to the call for help.

During his address to the guardsmen, Lee acknowledged, “We recognize that your families are also serving.”

He assured them that he and his wife would keep the soldiers and their families in their prayers as they strive to protect America from this external threat.

America continues to face an unprecedented border crisis, and people across the nation are experiencing the devastating consequences of rising crime, drug trafficking, and human trafficking. Governors are working together, taking immediate action to do what the federal government won’t do, and that is secure our border.

I commend Tennessee’s National Guard troops for answering this important call to service and providing critical support.

Due to the deliberate border crisis instigated by President Biden, there has been a drastic increase in crimes committed by illegal immigrants against American citizens.

A striking illustration of this is the recent tragic murder of Georgia college student Laken Riley by an illegal immigrant.

Furthermore, terrorists have managed to enter through the unsecured Southern border, with one individual remaining at large for nearly a year.
