Authorities have identified the suspect behind the devastating Cybertruck bombing at Trump Tower Las Vegas as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger, a Colorado Springs resident and former Green Beret. The attack, which took place on New Year’s Day, left one person dead and seven injured, sending shockwaves across the nation.

Senior law enforcement officials confirmed Livelsberger’s identity to KOAA, a local Colorado news outlet. Livelsberger reportedly rented the Tesla Cybertruck used in the attack and drove it to Las Vegas. This new revelation has triggered an extensive investigation in Colorado Springs, where the suspect resided.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and local police descended on multiple addresses linked to Livelsberger, focusing their efforts on a townhouse complex in the Stetson Hills neighborhood.

KOAA reported:

“The FBI is at a townhouse complex on the east side of Colorado Springs in the Stetson Hills neighborhood. Law enforcement escorted neighbors away from the complex but assured the public that there is no known threat to the community.”

Investigators believe Livelsberger’s military background played a critical role in the execution of the attack. According to unverified reports, his LinkedIn profile indicates he served in the elite Green Berets, the U.S. Army’s Special Forces unit specializing in unconventional warfare.

More alarmingly, the profile suggests Livelsberger was actively employed by the U.S. Army as a Remote and Autonomous Systems Manager for three months before the bombing. This role would have given him expertise in advanced technologies, raising questions about the level of planning behind the attack.

The military connection has drawn parallels to another terrorist incident in New Orleans, where a rented pickup truck was used in a car-ramming attack. That vehicle, like the Cybertruck in Las Vegas, was reportedly rented through the Turo app.

The bombing occurred in the porte cochère of Trump Tower Las Vegas on New Year’s Day, creating chaos and panic. Surveillance footage revealed a series of “fireworks-style mortars” detonating inside the Cybertruck, resulting in a fiery explosion.

One person was killed in the blast, and seven others sustained injuries ranging from burns to shockwave trauma. The incident has been classified as a potential act of domestic terrorism, with the FBI and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department leading the investigation.

Livelsberger’s reported military experience has prompted both shock and concern. Green Berets are renowned for their tactical expertise and unconventional warfare capabilities, making the revelation particularly troubling.

“If this is confirmed, it represents a deeply disturbing misuse of elite military training,” said a retired Army official who requested anonymity.

The incident also underscores the growing threat of domestic terrorism involving highly trained individuals. Law enforcement agencies are now examining whether Livelsberger acted alone or as part of a larger network.

The use of Turo, a peer-to-peer vehicle rental platform, has raised eyebrows. Livelsberger reportedly used the app to rent the Cybertruck involved in the attack, mirroring the methods used in the New Orleans car-ramming incident.

Authorities are investigating whether the two events are linked or represent a new trend in domestic terrorism tactics.

Residents in the Stetson Hills neighborhood expressed shock and disbelief as federal agents cordoned off parts of the area. While police assured the public there was no immediate danger, the investigation has left the community on edge.

“You never expect something like this to happen in your backyard,” said one neighbor who wished to remain anonymous.

The Trump Organization has increased security measures at its properties nationwide in response to the bombing.

As the investigation unfolds, key questions remain:

  • What motivated the attack? Authorities have not yet disclosed Livelsberger’s motive, though his military background and methods suggest a level of premeditation.
  • Was he acting alone? Investigators are working to determine whether Livelsberger had accomplices or ties to larger terrorist networks.
  • How did he obtain the explosives? The use of “fireworks-style mortars” in the attack points to meticulous planning.

This incident has reignited concerns about the potential for domestic terrorism involving former military personnel. Experts warn that individuals with specialized training pose a unique challenge for law enforcement agencies.

“The combination of tactical expertise and access to advanced technology creates a potent threat,” said a counterterrorism analyst.

The Las Vegas Cybertruck bombing serves as a grim reminder of the evolving nature of terrorism. As federal agents piece together the evidence, the nation waits for answers about what led a highly trained individual to carry out such a devastating act.

For now, Las Vegas, Colorado Springs, and the nation at large remain on high alert.

Does this mean we can ban Teslas as dangerous weapons?
    Please
Although, it WOULD take away some of the dumbfounded and comical moments my girlfriend and I have while we sip cucumber margaritas and dine in a nice Portuguese/Italian restaurant near a charging station in NY.

Why would any responsible journalism outlet run this story without actually confirming the claims on his linked-in profile. When I meet somebody who claims to have been a “special forces” operator, they can usually be disclosed as a phony pretty easily. How hard can it be to verify his service with the Army before publishing this “news.”

The question is: Just who was Matthew Livelsberger pissed off at????
I will never understand why some unhinged people take their anger out on other people that don’t deserve it.
