Podcast giant Joe Rogan didn’t hold back this week, launching a scathing critique of CNN’s credibility in the wake of a late-night TV blunder that further tarnished the network’s reputation.
Rogan highlighted CNN’s plummeting reputation, as evidenced by an uncomfortable moment on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, where the audience erupted into laughter at the mention of CNN’s supposed “objective” reporting, as per reports from Fox News.
On a recent installment of “The Joe Rogan Podcast,” comedian Adam Ray joined Rogan to analyze the interaction between Colbert and CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins. Despite Colbert’s known liberal bias, he attempted to commend CNN’s objectivity during Collins’ appearance.
However, his statement was met with laughter from the audience, mistakenly interpreting it as a joke.
Although Colbert tried to clarify that his comment wasn’t intended to be humorous, the damage had already been done.
Rogan couldn’t resist showing the clip to his audience, remarking, “Start it from the beginning and go big screen because this is so preposterous.”
The podcast host went on to question CNN’s strategy, suggesting that the network’s pursuit of sensationalism and ad revenue has destroyed its credibility.
“You’ve ruined your business because now, people think you’re full of s—. You could’ve been straightforward journalists, beyond reproach, and probably gotten away with it,” Rogan pointed out, before adding with a hint of sarcasm, “But you wouldn’t have made as much money. You gotta get those ads in.”
Joe Rogan laughs at CNN being embarrassed on Stephen Colbert’s show:
“That's how crazy this world has gotten. Where f****** CNN being unbiased is a joke to people in the audience.”

Collins had appeared on Colbert’s show to discuss President Biden’s decision not to run in the 2024 race, the ongoing clash between the media and former President Trump, and Vice President Kamala Harris’ role in the upcoming election. However, the most memorable part of the interview was Colbert’s failed attempt to praise CNN, which ended up backfiring.
This incident underscores CNN’s ongoing challenge with its public image. The network became closely associated with anti-Trump commentary during his presidency, with figures like Jim Acosta frequently clashing with the Trump administration. This confrontational approach led to CNN being labeled “fake news” by Trump and his supporters.
In 2022, Chris Licht, a former executive producer for Colbert, took over at CNN and pledged to move away from the left-leaning bias that had characterized the network under Jeff Zucker.
Licht aimed to regain conservative viewers that CNN had alienated, even going as far as letting go of some of the network’s most liberal voices. However, despite Licht’s efforts, he was ultimately removed from his position in 2023 after losing support from CNN’s liberal staff.
Despite Licht’s departure, left-wing pundits such as Jeffrey Toobin, Don Lemon, and Brian Stelter have since reemerged on CNN.
