An 8-year-old girl bravely thwarted a robbery at her father’s Minnesota liquor store by taking a swing at the alleged Amazon worker suspect with a baseball bat, as captured on surveillance footage.
The incident occurred at Big Discount Liquors in Maplewood around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday when Conchobhar Morrell, 37, entered the store wearing an Amazon uniform and brandishing what seemed to be a handgun.

Leo, the father of the girl and also the store clerk, described how Morrell demanded all the money in the register, saying, “I told him, ‘Yes – I’ll give you everything.'”
While the clerk was trying to get the cash, Morrell reportedly tried to jump over the counter where the girl was.
Surveillance video captured Leo confronting Morrell and wrestling him to the ground before his daughter got involved. She used a bat to repeatedly hit the suspect while her father held him down.
Leo was surprised to discover his daughter’s actions when he reviewed the surveillance video afterward.
He expressed his pride, stating, “I’m so proud of her, she’s so strong,” adding, “That day, I just wanted to cry. When I saw the video, I didn’t expect she’d do that. I expect a little girl crying, screaming.”
Morrell was able to escape the scene but was quickly caught. He faced charges of first-degree attempted aggravated robbery after it was discovered that the weapon he had was a BB gun, according to the police.
An Amazon representative confirmed Morrell’s employment as a delivery associate for a third-party service and announced that he would be terminated following his arrest.
Morrell is currently in custody awaiting his upcoming court appearance scheduled for Friday.
The courageous actions of the young girl undoubtedly played a vital role in stopping the robbery attempt, and her bravery and resolve are worthy of praise.
