Actor Michael Madsen, known for his roles in “Kill Bill” and “Reservoir Dogs,” was arrested in Malibu early Sunday morning on a domestic battery charge.
He was released on $20,000 bail shortly after the arrest.
Police were called to Madsen’s residence at 12:15 a.m. for a “family disturbance,” where it was reported that Madsen had pushed his wife and locked her out of their home.
Following an investigation, deputies determined that Madsen was involved in a domestic incident with his wife and subsequently arrested him at 1:40 a.m.
“The investigation is ongoing and will be forwarded to the Van Nuys Superior Court House for filing,” the Malibu/Lost Hills Station statement added.
If Madsen is found guilty, he may be required to do community service or be subject to a protection order against abuse.
Madsen has appeared in over 200 films, with notable roles in several of director Quentin Tarantino’s works.
These include “Kill Bill” volumes 1 and 2, “Reservoir Dogs,” “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” and the Tarantino documentary “QT8: The First Eight,” which documents the director’s initial eight films.
Madsen and his wife DeAnna have been married since 1996 and have three sons. Tragically, one of their sons, Hudson, died by suicide in 2022.
Madsen has a prior arrest history. In 2019, he was charged with misdemeanor drunk driving after crashing his car into a pole.
He pleaded no contest and was subsequently sentenced to four days in jail and five years probation.
Given that the previous incident occurred less than five years ago, Madsen may face penalties for violating his probation if found guilty in this case.
