Ilhan Omar Financial Disclosures Under DOJ Review After DC Raid

• Federal scrutiny around Ilhan Omar intensifies after a Washington, D.C. home search
• Jeanine Pirro says her office is reviewing Omar’s financial disclosures
• Business valuations tied to Tim Mynett draw fresh questions
• House Republicans have already pressed for records and answers
• Omar’s revised filings and denials remain central to the dispute

Jeanine Pirro says her office is looking into Rep. Ilhan Omar’s financial disclosures, adding a new layer to an already loud and messy controversy. The Minnesota Democrat is now facing renewed attention over how assets tied to her husband, Tim Mynett, were reported and revised over time.

On Fox News’ “America Reports,” Pirro said the disclosure issue is under review after filings appeared to show a dramatic jump in the reported value of businesses connected to Mynett. In one year, those holdings were described in a range as low as $51,000, then later as high as $30 million, a swing that naturally raises eyebrows.

The timing made the story hit even harder. Just a day earlier, federal agents searched Omar’s Washington, D.C., home as part of a separate criminal investigation tied to immigration paperwork, according to people familiar with the probe.

The Justice Department confirmed that Homeland Security Investigations agents carried out a court-authorized search warrant on Monday. What remains murky is whether that investigation has anything to do with the financial disclosure matter now drawing Pirro’s attention.

Republicans in Congress have already been circling this issue for months. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer requested financial records in February from two companies linked to Mynett, after the original filings showed sharp jumps in value that seemed hard to ignore.

Those filings listed two business ventures, a California winery and a Washington, D.C.-based venture capital firm, with striking increases in reported worth. eStCru LLC went from a modest valuation range in 2023 to as much as $5 million in 2024, while Rose Lake Capital LLC moved from nearly nothing to a range topping out at $25 million.

Put together, the businesses were reported at roughly $15,000 to $51,000 in 2023 and then $6 million to $30 million in 2024. Because disclosure forms use broad ranges instead of exact numbers, they do not reveal the couple’s precise net worth, but the numbers were big enough to spark plenty of skepticism.

Omar later amended her filings in April, cutting the reported combined assets to between $18,004 and $95,000. Her office said the original documents did not properly account for liabilities tied to her husband’s businesses, which created a misleading picture of the family’s finances.

That explanation did not end the fight. Omar has kept insisting she is not a millionaire, even as critics have pointed to the original forms and asked how such a wide gap could happen in the first place.

The controversy also drew a separate review from the Office of Congressional Conduct, which voted in September to recommend dismissing misconduct allegations tied to the disclosures. The watchdog said there was not enough reason to believe Omar had filed false or incomplete information in violation of federal law or House rules.

Her office treated that as a major win, saying the findings showed she had done nothing wrong. Still, that review is separate from the federal investigation Pirro described, and the two tracks now sit side by side while the pressure keeps building.

Omar’s latest annual disclosure, filed in May, listed assets between about $20,000 and $125,000 and also noted student loan and credit card debt connected to her husband. That filing added another twist to a story that has bounced between ethics questions, criminal scrutiny, and partisan firestorms for months.

Omar has also said she is being targeted for political reasons, especially after the raid on her home. With federal agents, prosecutors, and congressional Republicans all looking in different directions, the case keeps taking on new life every time a fresh document or investigation surfaces.
