Four Sedans Still Crack KBB’s 2025 Best-Selling List

  • Four sedans that still broke into the best-seller ranks
  • Toyota Camry’s strong overall placement
  • Toyota Corolla’s practical appeal and sales strength
  • Honda Civic’s mix of value and driving appeal
  • Tesla Model 3’s place among gas-powered rivals
  • How SUVs and trucks still dominate the market

Four-door sedans may not be running the show in America anymore, but they are far from gone. In a market crowded with trucks and crossovers, four models still muscled their way onto Kelley Blue Book’s 2025 best-selling vehicles list, proving there is still real demand for cars that keep life simple, efficient, and affordable.

That matters because the top of the sales charts is usually a heavy-haul parade of pickups and SUVs. Even so, the Camry, Corolla, Civic, and Model 3 showed that a sedan can still cut through the noise when it offers the right mix of value, reliability, and everyday usefulness.

The Toyota Camry led the sedan pack and landed ninth overall with 316,185 sales. That is a strong number in any year, especially for a car that used to sit much closer to the very top of the entire market.

The Camry’s staying power says a lot about how buyers still view it. It has built a reputation for being dependable and easy to live with, and Kelley Blue Book’s Best Buy recognition only reinforced that image. It also came surprisingly close to the Tesla Model Y, missing by just 1,615 sales, which is not much at that level.

Just behind it was the Toyota Corolla, which finished 11th overall with 248,088 sales. That made Toyota the only automaker with two sedans in the year’s best-seller group, and that is no small feat in a market leaning hard toward bigger vehicles.

The Corolla’s appeal is not flashy, and that is exactly the point. It is the kind of car people buy because it gets the job done without drama, delivering a practical, budget-friendly package that still holds up against far bigger rivals. It even outsold a long list of popular SUVs, which shows how much buyers still value a straightforward sedan that just works.

Then comes the Honda Civic, sitting 12th overall with 238,661 sales. It trailed the Corolla by less than 10,000 units, which keeps it right in the thick of the conversation among the country’s most popular nameplates.

The Civic has always had a slightly different energy than the Corolla. Yes, it serves the same basic mission as a commuter-friendly, efficient sedan, but it also carries a stronger reputation with drivers who care about how a car feels on the road. That wider appeal gives it an edge with shoppers who want more than just plain transportation.

The Tesla Model 3 rounded out the sedan group in 21st place with 172,800 sales. It was the only electric sedan on the list, which gives it a different lane entirely from the Camry, Corolla, and Civic.

Its sales were up 37% from the previous year, a notable jump at a time when the wider EV market has faced more pressure and the industry has been shifting back toward combustion power. The Model 3 also benefits from being Tesla’s most affordable entry point, and that makes it the easiest way for more buyers to test the electric waters without going all-in on a pricier model.

What stands out most is not just that these sedans survived in a truck- and SUV-heavy market, but that each one found a different reason to stay relevant. One leans on long-term trust, another on no-nonsense value, another on driving feel, and one on electric momentum.

That mix keeps the sedan from feeling obsolete, even if it no longer dominates the sales conversation. Buyers still want something efficient, familiar, and easy to handle, and these four models make a strong case that there is still plenty of room for a good four-door car.
