Dr. Nicole Saphier, a Fox News contributor, recently shared her insights on natural ways to tackle hair thinning and maintain a healthy gut. Hair thinning can arise from various factors such as hormonal changes, age, stress, and medications. Dr. Saphier herself faced hair loss some years ago due to a medication she was taking for an autoimmune disorder.

“I had a hard time putting my hair up in a ponytail. It was really upsetting emotionally,” she mentioned on “Fox & Friends Weekend.” Instead of opting for invasive procedures like hair transplants, she explored natural remedies. Her research led her to start massaging olive oil and rosemary oil into her scalp at night, which she found beneficial.

“It took some patience, but I began seeing significant regrowth and improvement within one to two months of doing this regimen and I haven’t stopped!” she told Fox News Digital. This experience reinforced her belief in the benefits of integrative care. She also incorporated a mix of liquid natural herbs like gotu kola, horsetail, and biotin to promote hair health.

To boost blood flow to the scalp, Dr. Saphier upped her green tea intake and focused on regular exercise and hydration. “As long as you are eating healthy and living healthy, your hair, your skin and your nails will have the nutrients that they need to grow,” she shared on the show. She emphasized the importance of seeking medical advice if facing any health concerns, to identify and address underlying causes.

Dr. Saphier also delved into gut health, stating, “Your entire body’s wellness focuses on your gut,” as noted on Fox News. She highlighted how antibiotics and processed foods can harm gut health. Her approach includes consuming probiotics found in fermented foods like yogurt, kimchi, and pickles, along with prebiotics from sources like garlic and blueberries.

“I actually take liquid garlic every single morning,” Saphier mentioned, explaining that liquid form is more bioavailable compared to capsules. Fiber is another crucial component of a healthy diet, with foods like raspberries, lentils, and avocados being excellent sources.

Saphier pointed out that gut motility, essential for digestive health, can be supported with ginger, along with staying hydrated and active. Stress has a tangible impact on the body, affecting both hair and gut health. “Managing stress isn’t about eliminating it,” she said. “It’s about finding balance and supporting your body through it.”

To handle stress, she prioritizes daily movement, whether it’s a workout or a walk outside, and practices mindfulness to stay grounded. Quality sleep and proper nutrition are also key to maintaining energy and resilience. “You do all of that and your gut is going to be as healthy as can be,” she concluded, offering practical advice for those seeking to improve their overall well-being.
