Federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) executed search warrants at Columbia University dormitories in a move that signals the Trump administration’s commitment to cracking down on anti-American and extremist activities on college campuses.
These searches come in the wake of the arrest of radical anti-Israel activist Mahomoud Khalil, a Palestinian national with a green card who has been leading inflammatory protests and spreading extremist rhetoric at Columbia and Barnard College. The operation underscores the administration’s strong stance on national security and its zero-tolerance policy toward foreign nationals engaging in radical activism.
Columbia’s Interim President Katrina Armstrong confirmed that DHS agents had judicially authorized search warrants, allowing them to enter non-public areas of the university. The university complied with the law, though its previous reluctance to address concerns about radical anti-Israel activism on campus has been a growing concern for federal authorities.
Armstrong’s statement attempted to downplay the significance of the operation, but the reality is that Columbia University is under heavy federal scrutiny for failing to curb extremist influences among its students and faculty.
The raid follows the arrest of Khalil, who has been a prominent leader of Columbia United Apartheid Divest (CUAD)—a group known for its anti-Israel propaganda and connections to organizations sympathetic to Hamas and Hezbollah.
Khalil’s extremist rhetoric and organizing efforts have drawn the attention of federal law enforcement, which has been monitoring radical activities on U.S. campuses. His arrest at a Columbia-owned apartment by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) signals a firm crackdown on foreign nationals abusing their immigration status to spread extremist ideologies.
The Trump administration has made clear its intent to deport Khalil, citing national security concerns. While a federal judge has temporarily blocked his removal, the administration is pushing forward with efforts to have him expelled from the country. Khalil remains detained in Louisiana, awaiting the next steps in his legal battle. The case represents a broader effort by the administration to root out foreign activists who engage in radical protests, incite violence, and undermine American values.
Meanwhile, Columbia University is facing serious consequences for its failure to protect Jewish students from harassment and for allowing its campus to become a breeding ground for radical activism. President Donald Trump recently revoked $400 million in federal grants from the university, citing its unwillingness to combat the rise of antisemitic, anti-Israel sentiment among students and faculty. This decisive action has sent shockwaves through academia, forcing universities nationwide to reconsider their tolerance of radical left-wing activism.
Protests erupted in New York following Khalil’s arrest, with demonstrators gathering in front of Trump Tower to demand his release. The protest quickly turned chaotic, forcing police to intervene and arrest multiple agitators. These demonstrations, often led by leftist activists and pro-Palestinian groups, underscore the deep ideological divide in the country, where radicals are increasingly emboldened to challenge the rule of law and national security measures.
Vice President JD Vance weighed in on the situation, making it clear that the administration will no longer tolerate foreign nationals who exploit America’s freedoms to promote extremist ideologies. He stated that individuals who do not align with the nation’s best interests have no right to remain in the U.S., reaffirming the administration’s commitment to putting America’s security first. His remarks reflect the broader shift in immigration enforcement, where individuals engaged in radical activism will face deportation rather than be allowed to destabilize communities.
DHS has also reportedly provided Columbia University with a list of individuals suspected of involvement in pro-Hamas activities, yet the university has refused to fully cooperate with the federal investigation. This lack of accountability from Columbia’s leadership has only intensified scrutiny, with pressure mounting for universities to take responsibility for the extremist rhetoric they enable.
This situation is not just about one individual—it’s part of a larger national security effort to ensure that American universities do not become havens for radical ideologies, antisemitism, and foreign agitators. The Trump administration’s firm actions against Khalil and Columbia University reflect a broader policy shift that prioritizes the safety of Americans over the appeasement of extremist groups.
The battle over Columbia University is emblematic of a larger struggle—the fight to preserve American values, secure the nation’s campuses from radical influence, and ensure that universities remain places of education rather than incubators for extremism. The Trump administration has made it clear: foreign nationals who engage in radical activism will not be granted the privilege of staying in the United States.
As legal proceedings unfold, this case will serve as a precedent for how the government handles extremist elements on college campuses moving forward. The administration’s strong and unapologetic stance on this issue is a sign that national security will not be compromised in the name of political correctness.
The days of turning a blind eye to radical activism on America’s campuses are over—and Columbia University may well be the first of many institutions to face serious consequences for failing to take action.

Lock those bitches and bastards up in GITMO NOW!
Agreed, Lawrence. Fck Palestine and it’s supporters. Islam is evil to its core and anyone who supports it is a brainwashed moron. Muhammad was a child molesting, illiterate, warlord. There’s nothing divine about him, but that’s who Islamists worship as “prophet”. Islamists have been on a raping/murdering Jihad for over 1400+ years, and continue to do so unto this day.
Those “woke”/Leftist idiots didn’t do their homework on Islam. If they had, they wouldn’t support it.
Americans EXPECT that foreign nationals who engage in radical activism will be deported out of the United States. Their speech is protected, but just as our citizens cannot scream “Fire” in a crowded movie theater, there must be sanctions when they scream “death to America” while moving through the streets and campuses carrying poles and other tools doing mayhem, causing fear and destruction of property.
