In a rare moment, a Democrat with a dose of common sense appeared on C-SPAN this morning, delivering a sharp and unexpected take on the 2024 election while making a strong case for President Trump.

The exchange unfolded during a call-in segment where the female C-SPAN host asked viewers what key issues President Trump and Kamala Harris should address.

Roger shared that his top concerns were closed borders, lower taxes, and more reasonable energy costs.

He highlighted that the decision between candidates was simple because both Trump and Harris have clear records on these issues.

While Roger didn’t explicitly say he would vote for Trump, his comments strongly suggested where his support lies.

As regular readers of TGP are aware, the past four years have seen open borders, rising taxes, and increasing costs for everyday Americans, contrasting with Trump’s term, which was marked by efforts to reverse those trends.

The Trump campaign quickly took note of Roger’s remarks and shared the clip on X with their followers.

KANSAS DEMOCRAT VOTER: I'm going to close my eyes and vote for closed borders, less taxes, and more reasonable energy costs. If you close your eyes and vote that way, it's a pretty simple choice because both candidates have a history. pic.twitter.com/B92VM7rbE9

HOST: Roger is on the line for Democrats. Good morning, Roger.

ROGER: Yes, for my main issue: I’m going to close my eyes and vote for closed borders, less taxes, and more reasonable energy costs. If you close your eyes and vote that way, it’s a pretty simple choice because both candidates have a history.

So you just vote on that, and I don’t have to tell you who I am voting for.

If more Democrats are starting to think like Roger, there may be hope for bringing the country back together. Right now, we seem closer to a civil war than to political unity.
