A significant piece of legislation aiming to tighten firearm regulations is set to be reviewed by a committee in the Colorado General Assembly this Tuesday. Senate Bill 3 has been branded by Colorado Senate Republicans as one of the most radical gun control measures ever proposed in the state. Pro-gun advocacy groups have been swift to denounce the bill, urging residents to voice their opposition during the committee meeting. The Rocky Mountain Gun Owners group has called for action, stating, “We need all freedom-loving Coloradans to show in full force next Tuesday and oppose this egregious violation of our rights.”
Colorado is often hailed as one of the leading states in the nation for stringent gun laws. Over the past five years, more than 30 different gun laws have been enacted within the state. Despite these measures, gun violence remains a pressing issue.
According to Everytown for Gun Safety, a gun violence prevention organization, Colorado’s gun violence rates surpass the national average. While the national gun death rate stands at 13.7 per 100,000 residents, Colorado’s rate is notably higher at 16.6.

This must be stopped. What part does anyone not understand when the 2nd amendment said : “will not be infringed upon”. I say the 1st amendment goes with the 2nd amendment and both need to say together intact!! The Radical lefties always try to attack both! What does that tell you? There is nothing like a well-armed populace to make it tough for tyranny and any politician should be removed from office should he/she vote for disarming the citizens of this country as they do not honor their OATH of OFFICE to promote, protect, defend OUR CONSTITUTION. VP Kamala Harris and the Aussie PM did a Victory Lap over Australia’s gun ban, Harris stating that “we need a law like Australia’s”, but no lives were saved. What happened was that when someone wanted to kill but couldn’t get a gun, they used another object instead, to carry out the murder. Duh. Therefore guns are no more lethal or dangerous than any other murder weapon.
In addition the Colorado law that you wrote about is 100% Unconstitutional and flies in the face of recent SCOTUS decisions in D C. Vs Heller and NYRPA Vs Bruen and others which you did not mention. It will only last as long as it takes to get it to the Supremes. Similarly, Harris would have zero ability to institute a “mandatory buy back program” because SCOTUS has spoken and cannot be overruled by Executive Order nor vote of Congress.
