4 Smartwatches That Beat The OnePlus Watch 3

The OnePlus Watch 3 earned plenty of praise when it arrived, mostly because it finally fixed some of the weak spots that held back the previous model. Its battery life is the headline act, but once the comparison shifts to health tracking, safety tools, connectivity, and everyday convenience, a few rivals start pulling ahead fast.

That gap matters more than it first seems. A smartwatch is supposed to feel useful all day, not just survive the day, and the models below push harder in the places that count for many buyers.

Google’s Pixel Watch 5 takes a strong lead in health and safety, while also giving shoppers more size and connectivity choices. It comes in 41mm and 45mm versions, with LTE and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi options, and its 3,000-nit display is easier to read outdoors than the OnePlus Watch 3’s panel. The tradeoff is battery life, since the Pixel Watch 5 tops out at 72 hours in Battery Saver Mode, far behind the OnePlus in smart use, but it answers with extras like loss-of-pulse detection, crash detection, cEDA stress sensing, and deeper Gemini integration.

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 9 leans into wellness tools in a way the OnePlus simply does not. It offers ECG, sleep apnea risk detection, blood pressure monitoring, and a set of experimental features that feel straight out of a lab, including the AGEs Index and Antioxidant Index.

There is also body composition analysis, which turns the watch into a wrist-mounted fitness scanner of sorts. Battery life is much shorter than the OnePlus Watch 3, but for users already tied into Samsung’s ecosystem, the added health depth can make that easier to forgive.

Apple’s Watch Ultra 4 goes in a different direction and treats toughness like a feature, not a bonus. The large 49mm design, Grade 5 titanium build, sapphire crystal display, and 100-meter water resistance make it a serious outdoor tool, and it can even serve as a dive computer for recreational scuba use.

Its battery life still does not catch the OnePlus Watch 3 in the long game, but its workout endurance is stronger, and the safety package is a big deal. Crash detection, ECG, sleep apnea and hypertension notifications, 5G, LTE, and satellite connectivity make it especially appealing for people who spend time off the grid or in rough conditions.

Garmin’s Venu 4 is the closest thing here to a battery-life heavyweight that still brings a deep fitness edge. The 41mm model can last up to 10 days, while the 45mm version stretches to 12 days, and both go much farther in Battery Saver mode than the OnePlus Watch 3.

The fitness features are where Garmin really starts to separate itself. Garmin Coach can build a plan around current performance and race date, Daily Suggested Workouts adjust for sleep and recovery, and the watch even estimates how long the body needs before the next hard session.

It is not perfect, since the display is dimmer than OnePlus’, storage is smaller, and LTE is missing. Still, the built-in LED flashlight and ANT+ support give it a practical edge for athletes and outdoor users who rely on specialized gear.

The OnePlus Watch 3 remains a strong pick for endurance, but endurance alone does not win every wrist. Once the conversation turns to smarter health tracking, more flexible connectivity, tougher builds, and training tools that feel tailored instead of generic, these four watches start looking like the more complete package.
