Five Years In, the Fight for Parental Rights Comes to Dallas — and There’s Still a Seat for You

DALLAS — Five years ago, a handful of mothers decided they were done being told to sit down and stay quiet about their own children’s education. This week, the movement they started gathers in Dallas, and parents who care about what happens in America’s classrooms have every reason to be in the room.

The Moms for Liberty 2026 National Summit runs October 8–11 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. The theme is “Boots on the Ground,” and it fits: this is a working summit, built to send parents home trained, connected and ready to act.

Why this year matters

The questions facing families are moving faster than most school boards can keep up with. Artificial intelligence is already in classrooms. Schools are collecting more data on children than ever. The federal role in education is being rewritten in real time. Parents who understand these changes will shape what comes next, and the summit is designed to put that understanding in their hands.

What you’ll walk away with

  • Answers from Washington. Kimberly Richey, Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education, leads two sessions: one separating fact from fiction on changes at the department, and one on Section 504 protections and how to take a complaint to the Office for Civil Rights.
  • A legal roadmap. Southeastern Legal Foundation attorneys show parents where to turn when a school gets it wrong. Alliance Defending Freedom covers opt-in and opt-out rights, including the Supreme Court’s ruling in Mahmoud v. Taylor.
  • A plan for AI and student data. Heritage Foundation experts, researcher Priscilla West and Moms for Liberty’s own policy team tackle classroom technology, student privacy and child development.
  • Proof it can be done. Hear how one student and a group of determined mothers in New Richmond, Wisconsin, turned a Title IX concern into community-wide action, told by the women who lived it.
  • Tools to stay in the fight. Dr. Chloe Carmichael teaches advocates how to handle opposition without burning out.

Sessions also cover academic standards, history curriculum, school safety, election reform and family policy, with Ryan Petty, vice chair of the Florida State Board of Education, among the panelists.

More than a conference

Friday night brings the premiere of America’s Moms, Adam B. Coleman’s documentary on the parents behind the movement. Saturday night is the “Such a Time As This” Awards Dinner Gala, honoring grassroots leaders from across the country. Sunday closes with the Blessings of Liberty Breakfast.

Past attendees consistently describe the summit the same way: they arrived as concerned parents and left as part of something bigger, with friends in every state who are fighting the same fight.

Be there

A full three-day pass is $350 and includes every session, meals and the gala. Gala-only tickets are $250. Seats are limited and the summit starts Thursday.

Your children’s schools will be shaped by the people who show up. Register now at momsforliberty.org/summit26.
