California Bill Expands Gender Mutilation, Threatens Children

This piece reports on a California hearing where a young detransitioner, identified as “Layla,” spoke out against a bill that would broaden access to gender-transition surgeries and treatments for minors, and it frames the issue from a Republican perspective focused on child safety, parental rights, and medical accountability.

Republicans in California and across the country are alarmed because the proposal would make it easier for young people to get irreversible procedures with less oversight and fewer safeguards. Conservatives see this as a clash between government-driven medical policies and the responsibility of families to protect children during vulnerable years. The debate is raw because it touches on life-altering interventions, long-term regret, and the balance of power between lawmakers, doctors, and parents.

At a subcommittee hearing a young woman testified about her experience in blunt terms, and her words struck a nerve with those who oppose the bill. ‘As the California legislature considers a bill expanding access to gender mutilation, ‘Layla’ told a subcommittee that ‘I was 13 years old. I was just a child when a surgeon removed my breasts.’ That testimony makes a simple point: minors lack the life experience to consent to procedures that change them forever.

Republican critics argue that policies pushing medical interventions on children ignore scientific uncertainty and the high rate of later detransition. They point to cases like Layla’s as evidence that irreversible surgeries and hormone regimens should not be normalized for teenagers. This position frames the matter as prevention: stop permanent harm before it happens and respect the developmental stages of youth.

Another core Republican concern is parental authority. Lawmakers on the right insist parents should have the final say in their children’s healthcare, not a state law that can pressure clinicians into offering radical options. When the state makes it easier for doctors to perform extreme interventions, critics say it undermines family autonomy and injects politics into private medical decisions.

Accountability for medical professionals is also front and center. Conservatives demand stricter oversight, transparency, and clear standards so that doctors face consequences if they rush through experimental treatments or fail to secure meaningful consent. The push is for policies that require careful psychological evaluation, extended waiting periods, and clear documentation that parents were fully informed.

There is also a public safety angle Republicans emphasize: when medicine goes beyond widely accepted practice without robust long-term studies, society has a duty to step in. Legislators wary of the bill argue that expanding access without evidence of long-term benefits and without mechanisms to address regret is reckless. The priority, from this view, should be evidence-based care that errs on the side of protecting minors from irreversible choices.

Practical policy suggestions from conservatives include banning surgical interventions for minors, tightening rules on off-label hormone use in adolescents, and creating avenues for those harmed to seek redress. Republicans favor laws that restore parental rights, enforce medical transparency, and require independent reviews of aggressive treatment protocols. The goal is to ensure children have time to grow, develop, and make fully informed decisions as adults.

Beyond the policy specifics, this debate is also about the stories of people who regretted early transitions and now warn others. Layla’s testimony is part of a growing chorus of detransitioners urging caution, and Republicans are using those accounts to press lawmakers to reconsider the bill. For conservatives, protecting children and reinforcing family authority are not culture-war slogans but practical principles meant to prevent needless harm.

What a twisted, sick, perverted and evil society they’ve formed in this locale and others around America where such wicked things are being discussed and even considered rational or good!

Isaiah 5:20-21 “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter. 21Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.”

It’s all going to come down! This earthly human race is so out of control and wicked!
