Parents of Girl Who Died from Measles Refused MMR Vaccine

The tragic passing of a young girl from West Texas due to measles has sparked a discussion about the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. The six-year-old, named Kaylee, succumbed to the illness on February 26 after being hospitalized in Lubbock. This marked the first fatality from measles in the ongoing outbreak in the South Plains and Panhandle regions, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. Notably, Kaylee had not received the vaccination.

Kaylee’s parents, who reside in Seminole, Texas, shared their story with Children’s Health Defense. During an interview aired on “Good Morning, CHD,” they discussed their stance on the MMR vaccine. The majority of the measles cases in the current outbreak have been occurring in their community.

When Kaylee first showed signs of illness, her parents suspected measles since it was prevalent in their area. Her mother took her to the doctor after a rash appeared, and she was given a cough remedy along with advice to manage her fever. Although her initial symptoms began to subside, complications arose, including a persistent fever.

Kaylee’s mother recalled, “I just noticed one morning that she was saying she was getting very tired, and I was just noticing her breathing wasn’t normal.” This prompted them to seek emergency medical care. At the hospital, it was discovered that Kaylee had pneumonia in her left lung, in addition to measles.

Despite the gravity of the situation, Kaylee’s mother expressed, “We would absolutely not take the MMR [vaccine]. The measles wasn’t that bad. They got over it pretty quickly.” However, Kaylee’s health deteriorated, and she ultimately passed away after being admitted to the ICU and placed on a ventilator.

The couple’s other four children also contracted measles after Kaylee’s death but recovered with medical treatment. The parents remain skeptical of the MMR vaccine, even after their loss. As of March 20, the CDC reported 378 confirmed measles cases across 18 states.

Kaylee’s father believes that contracting measles might actually strengthen people’s immune systems. He said, “God does no wrong, and He wanted this to wake people up. He’s woken us up for sure, to start a better life and come closer to Him.” The family is still waiting for the official death certificate to determine if pneumonia was the primary cause of death.

Measles is a highly contagious virus, especially among those who are unvaccinated. The MMR vaccine is a standard childhood immunization that has been required for school attendance since the 1970s. Fox News medical contributor Dr. Nicole Saphier explained that for most individuals, the two-dose MMR vaccine provides lifelong immunity, with about 97% effectiveness against measles.

Dr. Marc Siegel from NYU Langone Medical Center highlighted the significance of measles vaccinations, especially given the global surge in cases. He advised those traveling to outbreak areas to consult a doctor for a measles titer test, which assesses immunity levels, and to consider a booster if necessary.

The MMR vaccine is a live virus vaccine and is not recommended for pregnant women or individuals with compromised immune systems. The importance of consulting medical professionals for personalized advice remains crucial in navigating these health decisions.

From 2000 to 2016, the U.S. saw 12 recorded measles deaths and 104 deaths reported after the administration of the measles vaccine. The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), a national database jointly run by the CDC and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), provides information about possible side effects that occur after vaccination. From January 2000 to December 2015, 104 deaths were reported to VAERS following the administration of one of the four measles vaccines. It is important to remember that VAERS is a self-reporting system. This means that anyone—doctors, patients, family—can file a report, but many don’t report adverse side effects and/or deaths because the system is laborious and it takes much time to file a report, so there are likely to have been many more unreported serious side effects and/or deaths following the MMR vaccines.

This article is absurd. It simply parrots the propaganda of the medical establishment and big pharma. If you had done the slightest bit of investigating, you would know that the girl died of medical maltreatment. Look it up! I’m not going to do your job for you.
