Angelcare Invests Over C$20M, Strengthens Ontario Jobs And Supply Chain

Angelcare opens logistics and packaging centre in Ontario, Canada, with a C$20m investment in a 130,000 ft² Milton facility that will serve as the company’s national warehouse, packing hub for clumping cat litter, and a growing node in its North American supply chain.

Angelcare has committed more than C$20m to build a sizeable logistics and packaging centre in Milton, Ontario, positioning the site as the company’s primary distribution and packing operation for Canada and beyond. The new centre marks Angelcare’s first dedicated plant in the town focused on clumping cat litter, tying local production directly to national and export demand.

The property sits close to major highways, the Port of Montreal and the proposed CN Rail Milton Logistics Hub, giving it clear advantages for moving product across borders and to regional markets. That geography was selected deliberately to shorten transit times, lower shipping complexity and support faster responses to retail demand across North America.

Angelcare Group CEO Rahul Sharda stated: “This strategic investment reflects our confidence in Canada as the cornerstone of Angelcare’s global operations.

“The new packaging and distribution centre in Milton represents more than just an expansion of our footprint — it is a bold step forward in strengthening our supply chain, creating new opportunities for our people, and ensuring we deliver the quality, service and innovation our customers expect.”

Initially the centre will create 15 full-time jobs with plans to expand staffing as throughput increases and exports to the US and other markets pick up. That phased hiring strategy gives Angelcare flexibility to scale operations in line with demand while keeping a close eye on efficiency and workforce development.

An automated packaging line is already part of the facility and is rated to handle an annual output of roughly 4.6 million boxes, with the building designed to accept two additional lines when business warrants. This infrastructure lets Angelcare step up production quickly, reduce lead times and keep retail shelves stocked without long supply delays.

The plant will package Litter Genie Light, a clumping litter made from Canadian bentonite clay that the company touts as additive-free, 99% dust-free and about 20% lighter than many national alternatives. Those product traits are meant to appeal to pet owners who prioritize low dust and easier handling, while domestic manufacturing supports local sourcing and supply stability.

Environmental considerations were built into the project with upgraded lighting, modern HVAC systems and logistics planning intended to lower transport emissions and improve long-term operational efficiency. Angelcare also envisions the Milton site evolving into an innovation hub, planning an on-site research and development lab, demonstration space and a training centre to support product improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

By combining packaging capacity, strategic location and plans for R&D, Angelcare aims to strengthen its North American footprint and support faster product development cycles. The facility ties manufacturing, distribution and innovation into a single node that can serve Canada and feed export lanes to the United States and other markets.
