Dawkins has spent years getting used to Allen’s style, and that familiarity has turned into a kind of football shorthand. When Allen starts improvising, Dawkins and the rest of the line have to react fast, because a routine pocket can turn into a scramble in a heartbeat.
That’s where Dawkins’ blunt humor comes in. When asked what it’s like to play with Allen, he made it sound miserable in the most obviously sarcastic way possible, saying, “People think playing for Josh Allen is the best thing in the world – it f—ing sucks. All right? It absolutely sucks,” while clearly laughing at the very idea.

The ride clearly got his attention, and he was all smiles talking about how the machine handled rough terrain. “If there was just a longer stretch, we really would’ve went flying,” he said, sounding like a guy already thinking about how to push the thing harder next time.
He wasn’t done there either. Dawkins joked that he wanted more than one of the vehicles so he and his people could take them out around Buffalo and have some fun in the woods, especially when the ground gets wet and soft and the whole point is to see what the machine can really do.
For Dawkins, that mix of football, competition, and playfulness seems to fit perfectly. Whether he’s protecting Allen on Sundays or grinning through a mud-slinging ride off the field, he comes off like someone who knows how to enjoy the moment without ever losing sight of the grind.
