Former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger faced a sharp rebuke from Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) on Thursday after attempting to criticize her resolution to restrict Capitol Hill restrooms to biological sexes. Mace, known for her unfiltered remarks, fired back with a controversial comment that ignited debate across social media.
The clash began when Mace introduced a resolution aimed at banning biological males from using women’s restrooms and other female-only facilities on Capitol Hill. This move followed the election of Tim “Sarah” McBride, the first openly transgender congressperson, to the U.S. House of Representatives. Mace framed her resolution as necessary to “protect women’s spaces” and ensure that gender-specific facilities are reserved for biological sexes.
Kinzinger, a vocal critic of many in the GOP and a supporter of LGBTQ rights, took issue with Mace’s stance. He attempted to call out her apparent inconsistency by posting a 2021 tweet in which she expressed support for LGBTQ rights while emphasizing the need to balance those rights with religious freedom. The post linked to her vote against the Equality Act, a Democratic bill seeking to expand protections for sexual orientation and gender identity without exceptions for religious institutions.
The former congressman’s post suggested Mace had shifted her position on LGBTQ issues, but Mace wasted no time in responding with a biting comeback. “It’s ok Adam, even though you don’t have balls anymore, you can still use the men’s room,” Mace tweeted, leaving little room for ambiguity in her critique.
The tweet quickly went viral, dividing opinions. Supporters of Mace lauded her for standing firm on what they see as an issue of women’s rights and safety, while critics decried her comment as needlessly inflammatory and disrespectful.
Mace’s resolution is part of a broader effort by conservative lawmakers to challenge policies accommodating transgender individuals in gender-specific spaces. The initiative gained traction after newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson announced on Wednesday that biological males would not be permitted to use female restrooms in the Capitol.
Speaking to The Gateway Pundit, Mace said her fight would not end on Capitol Hill. “I’m not going to stop with Capitol Hill,” she declared. “I’ll be filing multiple bills to protect women and girls all across the country.”
Mace cited personal safety concerns, including death threats, as evidence of the risks she faces in taking on what she described as “radical leftist agendas.” Nonetheless, she insisted she would continue to push legislation aimed at restricting access to women’s spaces based on biological sex.
The controversy underscores the widening divide between factions within the Republican Party. Kinzinger, who left Congress after the 2022 elections, has become a symbol of the GOP’s moderate wing, often clashing with more conservative members like Mace. His criticism of Mace’s resolution aligns with his broader critique of what he perceives as the party’s growing hostility toward LGBTQ rights.
On the other side, Mace’s response has energized her conservative base, who view her as a staunch defender of traditional gender norms and religious freedoms. Her supporters argue that protecting women’s spaces from what they see as encroachment by transgender policies is a critical issue, while her critics accuse her of using divisive rhetoric to score political points.
The debate over gender and restroom policies is far from new but has gained renewed attention with the growing number of transgender individuals entering public office and high-profile positions. Proponents of Mace’s resolution argue that such policies are essential for preserving privacy and safety, while opponents contend they perpetuate harmful stereotypes and discrimination against transgender individuals.
Mace’s rhetoric, including her pointed jab at Kinzinger, reflects the broader cultural battle playing out within American politics. Her supporters argue she is fearlessly addressing an issue many consider politically sensitive, while detractors claim her approach exacerbates divisions and ignores the complexities of gender identity in modern society.
As Mace pushes forward with her legislative agenda, the question of how Congress and the nation will navigate the balance between inclusivity and the protection of traditional gender-specific spaces remains contentious. Her fiery rhetoric ensures that this issue will remain a focal point of public and political debate, likely continuing to polarize lawmakers and the electorate alike.
In the meantime, the feud between Mace and Kinzinger highlights the stark contrasts within the Republican Party, showcasing the tension between moderates and the more outspoken conservative wing. Whether Mace’s approach will resonate with a broader audience or alienate potential allies remains to be seen, but her bold stance has undoubtedly put her at the center of this cultural flashpoint.

“decried her comment as needlessly inflammatory and disrespectful.” Hell yes they are disrepectful. Kinzinger deserves no respect.
Character assassination seems to be the primary Democrat tool for political discussion. Now that Gaetz resigned, they are admitting there is no basis for the charges. How magnanimous of them! I guess they are not smart enough to know what goes around comes around.
As ALWAYS, if you are born male, you are always male and should NEVER use a Women’s rest room, locker, changing room or other PRIVATE area for any reason! And no male should ever try to compete in Women’s sports unless the specific sport is designated for Men and Women to compete against each other.
“Navigate the balance between inclusivity and the protection of traditional gender-specific spaces remains contentious.”
Bullshit; there should be no debate at all! The whole historic time tested and proven reality of normalcy and the SOP for thousands of years isn’t “an old outdated stereotype” as some “freaks and radical leftist rabble-rouse minions of Satan would have you believe!”
Either the “freaks and complainers fit into this absolute evidentiary norm” or they can have a small space like “a broom closet or other designated freak space” for persons who don’t want to be conformed to their “birth gender” and have to use that appropriate gender space when they need to take a piss or dump and whatever else they do in public restroom facilities! “There is no debate” and to continue “saying there is also acts as a perpetuation of a non-problem,” which has been “allowed to expand and continue far too long already!”
Enough is enough and even “Mace needs to be more hardcore and solid” about this “moronic fake debate” for a tiny fraction of the population that want to be freaks; and have the whole of society conform to them! Not happening, no way, no how!
When you die and an autopsy is performed, you are either male or female. On the other hand, Kinzinger, Hillary, Biden, Harris, Walz, Bragg, Smith, Willis, certainly Pelosi, Newscum, and a host of celebrities continue to offer proof that aliens did indeed visit this planet.
Why not just post the restroom doors with “XX” or “XY?” Following the science, there ‘s zero ambiguity there. And remind RINO Kinzinger that even in the men’s room, he can still sit to pee.
