Nine individuals sustained injuries when a vehicle collided with a group of people celebrating New Year’s Eve in the vicinity of Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The New York City Fire Department reported that the incident took place close to West 34th Street and 9th Avenue, prompting authorities to designate the event as one involving mass casualties.
According to Fox News, those who were impacted by the crash included both members of law enforcement and civilians. The driver came to a stop after driving onto a sidewalk. A suspect has been placed into custody in relation to this incident.
“Police responded to West 33rd Street and 7th Avenue and observed a dispute between the suspect identified as a 44-year-old male and another person, a police spokesperson confirmed to Fox News Digital,” the outlet said.

Law enforcement officers apprehended the suspect at West 34th Street and 9th Avenue in an incident that left three officers injured.
ABC 7 video footage of the area revealed debris scattered across the pavement and sidewalks.
Fortunately, all individuals involved were reported to be in stable condition when they were taken to hospital.
