Meta Suddenly Eases Guardrails on Trump Facebook/Instagram Accounts to Protect ‘Political Expression’

Less than a week from now, the Republican National Convention (RNC) will commence in Milwaukee.

It is anticipated that former President Donald Trump will be formally selected as the party’s nominee for the upcoming November general election.

Trump has recently received some positive news, which seems to be connected to the timing of the convention.

Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, has revealed its plans to relax the limitations on Trump’s accounts across its platforms in support of promoting equal “political expression” leading up to the RNC.

Meta announced Friday that it would remove restrictions placed on former President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts ahead of the Republican National Convention next week.

The company said the decision was made to ensure that Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, would have equal standing with Democrat President Joe Biden.

Meta said in a statement:

“In assessing our responsibility to allow political expression, we believe that the American people should be able to hear from the nominees for President on the same basis, “As a result, former President Trump, as the nominee of the Republican Party, will no longer be subject to the heightened suspension penalties.”

The company acknowledged that since his account was restored in 2023, there has not been a need to utilize the enhanced penalties.

It remains unclear whether Trump will benefit from Meta’s leniency, as he primarily posts on his Truth Social platform now.

Conservatives have not forgotten how Big Tech giants such as Meta and Google made significant efforts to limit the spread of opposing political views during past presidential cycles.

This injustice has not been resolved and ongoing revelations shed light on the collusion between progressive elites in D.C. and these companies to suppress free speech.
