On Sunday, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Maria Bartiromo, host of Fox News Channel’s Sunday Mornings Future, engaged in a lively debate concerning the internal conflict among members of the Republican Party regarding the budget and Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). With the current fiscal year set to end on September 30th, it is imperative that House representatives pass funding bills soon to avoid a partial government shutdown.

Bartiromo preceded the segment with Gaetz by interviewing House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), who is an ally of McCarthy’s. Jordan urged Republicans to back a short-term continuing resolution so that the government would be able to avoid a shutdown. On the other hand, Gaetz does not support any CR and is trying to make sure McCarthy follows through on his promise of funding the government via individual bills passed in regular order.

Bartiromo defended McCarthy’s work setting up investigation committees on the Bidens, weaponizing the government and China. Gaetz disagreed, claiming these committees had yet to produce any results, citing how Donald Trump Jr. was summoned before House committees three times in 2019 while Hunter Biden has not yet been subpoenaed. However, McCarthy stated that he is waiting for a suitable opportunity after further bank records have been looked into to call Hunter Biden to testify.

In one of the many clashes in the nearly nine minute interview, Gaetz corrected Bartiromo when she said McCarthy has made the J6 Capitol videos available to anyone who wants to see them.

Gaetz hit the nail on the head with on the performative nature of McCarthy’s speakership in this exchange with Bartiromo:

Maria Bartiromo: “How about the fact that he [McCarthy] set up a China select committee to keep china accountable and of course he has launched this enquiry into impeachment potentially for President Biden, is that not what you want?”

Rep. Matt Gaetz: “These committees have done nothing to reduce inflation, they have done nothing to actually constrain the Biden govt. We can set up committees and have hearings and yell at people but at the end of the day we still send the check to fund a weaponized govt, having a weaponized subcommittee is little relief to the American people. And if any of these were serious we would be sending out subpoenas and compelling process the way Jan 6th committee did… We are playing patty cake with the Bidens.”

We should have separate single-subject spending bills.@ SpeakerMcCarthy promised that in January. He is in breach of that promise. I’m not here to hold the government hostage. I’m here to hold Kevin McCarthy to his word.”

Towards the end of the interview, Bartiromo went hard at Gaetz, accusing him of “indirectly working with Democrats, allowing Chuck Schumer to come up with a continuing resolution next week” and asking if he has a “vendetta” against McCarthy. Bartiromo also accused Gaetz of “enabling” Democrats, all of which Gaetz denied.

Megyn Kelly dismissed speculation about Michelle Obama running for president, saying the Former First Lady has “no faith” in the American people and would likely face backlash.

Rumors about Obama running for president have picked up steam as Joe Biden continues to fall flat on his face.

While Democrats see Obama as a potential “savior”, Kelly predicted that Obama would drive Republican turnout because she doesn’t “like America.”

Kelly looked back at Obama’s infamous comment about being “proud” of America for the first time during her husband’s 2008 campaign – just one among many polarizing comments about race.

Since leaving the White House, Obama has continued to take shots at Americans – saying she straightened her hair during her time at the White House because the people weren’t “ready” for a First Lady with African features.

Kelly gave an incredulous reaction to Obama’s continued griping about the supposed evils of Americans, who voted for her and her husband twice – rocketing them both to wealth and fame.

“Really? I mean it’s the same country that made Oprah Winfrey an absolute billionaire, and I watched that show daily and Oprah wore her hair however the hell she wanted,” Kelly responded.

“But this woman has no faith in the goodness of Americans.”

Shadow government

Despite her Oprah-like popularity, Michelle Obama has long said she has no interest in politics – opting instead for a life of leisure as a beloved celebrity and media personality.

Whether Michelle runs or not, the Obamas may already have a foothold in a second Biden administration.

Kelly noted the speculation that the Obamas are “already running the government and that there is some sort of shadow puppet situation going on that they’re controlling.”

“There’s been questions from the beginning — is it Joe Biden really making the calls?” she asked.

Interest in the Obamas – and their role in shaping a deeply divided country – was renewed last month when a lengthy interview was published with biographer David Garrow.

The article made note of President Obama’s unusual decision to continue residing in Washington D.C. after leaving office – and rumors that Biden officials, many of whom are Obama veterans, have regular meetings at Obama’s house.

Kelly’s comments appeared to strike a nerve at the White House, which offered a snarky response.

The far-left Open Society Foundation, now run by billionaire George Soros’ son, Alex, will be hyper-focused on defeating former President Donald Trump in next year’s election should he go on to become the GOP nominee.

In an op-ed for Politico, Alex Soros argued that defeating Trump is important for the left-wing group’s ongoing work across Europe, which has focused primarily on undermining the traditional values-based democratic order on the continent, much like George Soros has done in the United States for decades.

“As someone who spends up to half their time working on the Continent and thinks former United States President Donald Trump — or at least someone with his isolationist and anti-European policies — will be the Republican nominee, I believe a MAGA-style Republican victory in next year’s U.S. presidential election could, in the end, be worse for the EU than for the U.S.,” Alex Soros wrote, in part.

“Such an outcome will imperil European unity and undermine the progress achieved on many fronts in response to the war in Ukraine,” he continued, going on to pledge financial support for efforts to oppose Trump: “We are adapting [Open Society Foundations] to be able to respond to whatever scenarios might emerge, on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Alex Soros also pledged to continue supporting its foundation in Ukraine, which helped sponsor the Orange Revolution in 2004 and the Maidan uprising in 2014.

“[T]here should be absolutely no doubt that we will continue to support our foundation in Ukraine. We are proud that the network of civil society groups it has assisted, with over $250 million since 2014, has played such an important role in Kyiv’s resilience in the face of Russia’s horrific war of aggression,” he wrote.

In the U.S., the OSF’s latest ‘project,’ so to speak, has been funding the campaigns of far-left district attorneys in major cities run by Democrats — candidates who de-emphasize traditional law enforcement and prosecutions of many crimes and who implement “bail reform” and other measures that critics say have led to crime explosions in their cities.

In the video, shared on Truth Social, the 45th president claimed that the United States was being damaged by “Marxist” and “communist” district attorneys, and he vowed to take action to fix it if he is elected president again in 2024.

“There is no more dire threat to the American way of life than the corruption and weaponization of our justice system. And it’s happening all around us. As president, it will be my personal mission to restore the scales of justice in America. We want fairness and equality under the law. And to that end, I will appoint US attorneys who will be the polar opposite of the Soros district attorneys and others that are being appointed throughout the United States. Very unfair to our population, very unfair to our country,” Trump declared.

Trump said that the attorneys he would appoint would be “the most ferocious legal warriors against crime and communist corruption that this country has ever seen.”

“As we completely overhaul the Federal Department of Justice and FBi, we will launch sweeping civil rights investigations into Marxist local district attorneys. And that’s what we have, they’re Marxist in many cases. By refusing to charge countless crimes, the Soros prosecutors appear to be engaging in selective enforcement based on illegal radical discrimination,” he said.

“In addition, we will have a complete investigation into the use of police state tactics by federal authorities to arrest conservatives and Christians. We will find out who ordered it and hold them totally accountable,” the former president said.

“There is much more that we must to, we have to confront this radicalized law in schools… we have to reform the far-left bar associations and stop the purge of conservative lawyers from major law firms,” Trump continued. “I will do whatever it takes to save our legal system, among the greatest achievements of Western civilization, from the Marxist barbarians who seek to destroy it, and we will do that. We will save it.”

A new poll reveals that former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is the only 2024 Republican Presidential candidate who stands a chance of defeating President Joe Biden in the general election.

The CNN survey found that while other leading GOP contenders would be in a dead heat with him, Haley holds a clear advantage.

Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Tim Scott, Vivek Ramaswamy and Ron DeSantis all had similar results within the margin of error as Biden.

Trump earned 47% support from survey respondents compared to 46% for Biden; the same result was seen for Pence and Scott at 46% and 44%, respectively. Ramaswamy trailed Biden 45% to 46%, while DeSantis was neck-and-neck with him at 47%.

This data suggests that if Republicans are to have any hope of reclaiming the White House come 2024, they must rally behind Nikki Haley as their nominee. But who is she? And why might her candidacy prove so successful?

Nikki Haley has served in various government positions over the past two decades — from her time as an appointed member of South Carolina’s House of Representatives in 2004 to her term as United States Ambassador to the United Nations under Donald Trump in 2017 — making her well-equipped for higher office.

She also boasts impressive public speaking skills and has recently become known for her conservative stances on issues such as taxes and immigration reform. These traits could be key factors in helping her attract swing voters away from Biden’s camp.

Haley mocked the U.S. Senate last week as a “nursing home” following the latest health scare from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

“It’s sad,” she told Fox News of his second public freezing incident. “No one should feel good about seeing that any more than we should feel good about seeing Dianne Feinstein, any more than we should feel good about a lot of what’s happening or seeing Joe Biden’s decline.”

“What I will say is, right now, the Senate is the most privileged nursing home in the country,” Haley added. “I mean, Mitch McConnell has done some great things and he deserves credit. But you have to know when to leave.”

Haley has endorsed requiring all politicians over the age of 75 to complete mental competency tests before being allowed to run for re-election.

Additionally, many conservatives admire Haley’s commitment to fiscal responsibility during her tenure as governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017 where she oversaw tax cuts worth billions while managing a $1 billion budget surplus by 2015 — something which could make her an attractive option among fiscal conservatives both inside and outside of party lines.

In fact, one recent poll found that despite having left office four years ago she remains popular among voters across both political parties with 55 percent viewing her favorably compared to just 27 percent viewing unfavorably – suggesting she may have some crossover appeal which could give Republicans an edge against Democrats come Election Day 2024.

Ultimately it will take more than just name recognition or policy preferences for Nikki Haley to secure victory against Joe Biden should he decide to run again next year, however this latest polling data does suggest Republicans may have found their best chance yet if they can convince enough independent voters that she represents their best chance at winning back the White House come November 2024

Joe Biden on Friday delivered remarks on ‘gun safety’ from the Rose Garden. Kamala Harris joined Biden as they announced a new office on gun violence prevention.

Biden continued his war on the Second Amendment: “If you need 80 shots in a magazine, you shouldn’t own a gun!”

“I’ll continue to urge Congress to take common sense actions that the majority of Americans support like enacting universal background checks and banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines,” Biden said in a statement.

“But in the absence of that sorely-needed action, the Office of Gun Violence Prevention along with the rest of my Administration will continue to do everything it can to combat the epidemic of gun violence that is tearing our families, our communities, and our country apart,” Biden said.

Biden absurdly claimed he has been to every mass shooting.

“After every mass shooting, we hear a simple message. The same message we hear all over the country and I’ve been to every mass shooting,” Biden said.

Joe Biden then said he was elected to the Senate 827 years ago.

“I remember when I was young. We have something in common. I got elected to the Senate when I was 29 years old, only difference was he was eligible when he got elected to take office,” Biden said of Rep. Maxwell Frost, the Communist Gen Z lawmaker standing beside him.

“I had to wait 17 days to be eligible. That was 827 years ago,” Biden said.

Federal prosecutors in New York have said they intend to charge Democrat Senator Bob Menendez and his wife on Friday.

A press conference will be held today at 11:00 a.m. to announce the unsealing of an indictment charging Robert Menendez, U.S. Senator from New Jersey, and his wife, Nadine Menendez, with bribery offenses in connection with their corrupt relationship with three New Jersey businessmen, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

“This would be the second time Menendez has been indicted. He stood trial several years ago but that ended in a mistrial. The New Jersey Democrat is up for reelection next year,” Politico reported.

“The first time Menendez was indicted, he had been accused of using his political influence to help a Florida eye doctor who had lavished him with gifts and campaign contributions. Menendez appears to be the first sitting senator in U.S. history to have been indicted on two unrelated criminal allegations, according to a list maintained by the Senate Historical Office,” the New York Post reported. “The new charges follow a yearslong investigation that examined, among other things, the dealings of a New Jersey businessman — a friend of Menendez’s wife — who secured sole authorization from the Egyptian government to certify that meat imported into that country meets Islamic dietary requirements. Investigators also asked questions about the Menendez family’s interactions with a New Jersey developer.”

“Menendez faces re-election next year in a bid to extend his three-decade career in Washington, and as Democrats hold a narrow majority in the Senate. Menendez’s political career had looked as though it might be over in 2015, when a federal grand jury in New Jersey indicted him on multiple charges over favors he did for a friend, Dr. Salomon Melgen,” the outlet added.

Menendez was accused of putting pressure on government officials to settle a Medicare billing dispute in Melgen’s favor, obtaining visas for the doctor’s girlfriends, and assisting in the protection of a contract the doctor had with the Dominican Republic to provide port-screening equipment.

Menendez has always claimed innocence. His lawyers claimed that Melgen’s campaign contributions and gifts, which included trips on his private jet to a Dominican Republic resort and a vacation in Paris, were not bribes but rather tokens of their longtime friendship.

“Prosecutors are expected to meet with his lawyers in the coming weeks ahead of a final decision. New Jersey’s senior U.S. senator, a Democrat who serves as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Menendez has been under scrutiny by the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York. The probe in part has examined whether he or his wife, Nadine Arslanian, received gifts in exchange for political favors, The Wall Street Journal reported.

In October, two sources familiar with the investigation told the news site Semafor that “prosecutors in the Southern District of New York have contacted people connected to Menendez in recent weeks,” and that “they have sent at least one subpoena in the case.”

A spokesman from Menendez’s office, Michael Soliman, told the outlet, “Senator Menendez is aware of an investigation that was reported on today, however, he does not know the scope of the investigation. As always, should any official inquiries be made, the Senator is available to provide any assistance that is requested of him or his office.”

The outlet went on to report details of the first federal probe into Menendez during the Obama administration:

Menendez and a Florida eye doctor, Salomon Melgen, were indicted in 2015 for an alleged arrangement under which the doctor provided flights on a private jet and lavish vacations in exchange for the senator’s help with government contracts and other public favors. Menendez’s lawyers argued that the two men were simply good friends. The inquiry ended in a mistrial in 2017 after the jury failed to reach a verdict. (Melgen was convicted in 2017 of medicare fraud, and received clemency from President Donald Trump in 2021.)

The two people familiar with the investigation, one who is directly connected to the investigation and the other a New Jersey lawyer who has been told of the case, said that the broad outlines of the new inquiry are similar to the 2017 case. Both said that the new investigation involves an entirely different group of people, however.

Semafor correspondent Kadia Goba offered her insight into the case.

“Federal prosecutors rarely lose at trial, so it’s notable to see the Department of Justice return to Menendez after its humiliating public failure to convict him,” she wrote. “Public corruption cases also present special obstacles since a 2016 decision in which the Supreme Court overturned the conviction of former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, and ruled that prosecutors must find explicit evidence that gifts or donations were tied to official actions.

The most important characteristic of Bidenomics is its reliance on government intervention to solve economic problems. As President Donald Trump noted in a tweet shortly after Biden’s speech: “Joe Biden wants to raise taxes by $4 trillion dollars… He plans to massively increase regulation and dramatically grow government control over your daily life.”

This heavy-handed approach is seen as antithetical to traditional conservative values such as limited government and free markets. Moreover, many conservatives argue that government intervention can actually make matters worse rather than better because it restricts free market forces and often results in inefficient allocation of resources.

One of the focal points of the investigation is “Project 42,” a plan to construct an expansive glass building near Tesla’s Austin-area factory and headquarters. While Musk has stated on social media that there isn’t a glass house “built, under construction or planned,” the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has opened a separate civil investigation into the project, which follows an internal investigation of the project, which may be a glass mansion for Musk.

Prosecutors are also examining whether Tesla has properly disclosed any perks that Musk might have received.

At Tesla, Musk has at times personally guided what information is disclosed to shareholders. The company has stated that it generally doesn’t provide perks or other personal benefits to its top executives, raising questions about the nature of these undisclosed benefits.

In addition to the undisclosed perks and “Project 42,” Manhattan-based federal prosecutors have sought information about the driving range of Tesla’s electric vehicles.

This inquiry comes on the heels of other investigations into whether Tesla misled consumers and investors about the performance of its advanced driver-assistance system known as Autopilot.

At least one American has been detained by the Taliban after being accused of proselytizing Christianity in Afghanistan, as part of a long-term mission associated with the Switzerland-based nonprofit International Assistance Mission.

The question is, did Joe Biden’s decision to pay a ransom to Iran for hostages encourage more kidnappings in the hope to extort the feckless American President?

The Taliban closed IAM’s office in two separate raids, according to Townhall.

The NGO stated that two Afghan nationals and one international team member were detained, while Townhall reported that an American worker plus 18 others were captured in a raid on the IAM office in Lal wa Sarjangal, Ghor province.

The group’s leaders are currently “unaware of the circumstances” leading to the detainment and have not been informed of its reason.

“The well-being and security of our colleagues are paramount to us, and we are doing everything possible to ensure their safety and secure their swift release,” they said in their statement.

Three members of the group were reportedly apprehended in the first raid of the office, with the remaining ten being taken into custody 10 days later.

The Taliban initially indicated that they had arrested these individuals for “propagating and promoting Christianity”, which was later confirmed by the U.S. State Department.

In response to this incident, a travel advisory warning was issued stating that all areas of Afghanistan are unsafe and there is a high risk of kidnapping or violence against U.S. citizens in Afghanistan.

The International Association of Medical Students (IAM) has written to the Ministry of Economy, where it is officially registered as an international NGO.

In partnership with the United Nations and ACBAR, which serves as a coordinating body for NGOs in Afghanistan, they are looking into the circumstances surrounding their 18 colleagues and working towards securing their quick release.

“We stand by the principle that ‘aid will not be used to further a particular political or religious standpoint.’ All IAM staff agree to abide by the laws of Afghanistan,” the nonprofit added.

This organization, registered in Geneva, Switzerland, was established in 1966 and has been operating solely in Afghanistan. It functions as a partnership between Afghans and international Christian volunteers.

It’s not just Mayor Eric Adams who’s worried about his sanctuary city being overrun by illegal immigrants as Governor Greg Abbott continues to bus them out of Texas.

Now, New Yorkers themselves are starting to get angry.

“Welcome to our nightmare,” Pat Gray from the Blaze says, who notes that New York is not even one of the border states dealing with millions of illegal immigrants crossing over every year.

One New York resident gave her message to One America News: “My message is close the border,” she said, adding, “They put them first, put Americans last.”

When asked about whether or not AOC, who was holding a press conference in Midtown with Jerry Nadler, was responsive to messages like hers, the resident said, “No.”

“She kept on talking the same thing, housing for migrants, work for migrants, but what about our homeless veterans? What about our homeless Americans? Puts the migrants first, U.S. last,” she continued.

She isn’t the only New Yorker who’s angry.

Another resident told One America News that “this is up to each and every one of us to stand up. Nobody’s coming here for us. We’re here for ourselves. If we don’t get up and fight for our city, nobody’s coming for us. They’re coming and destroying it. The reason why they’re here is to steal our votes.”

“We’re not going to be able to live. They’re stealing our votes, our kids’ future, my birthright, our United States, this great city that I refuse to leave,” he continued.

Even more New Yorkers took to the streets yelling, “Send them back,” and “Close the border, close the border. Respect the Constitution, AOC. I am your constituent.”

Gray and Keith Malinak believe this may just be what New York needed for a red wave.

“Busing people to the Northeast has been one of the most successful political moves of all time,” Gray says, adding that “it has woken up the Northeast corridor to what’s going on here at the border.”

Former President Donald Trump stated on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was “responsible” for the January 6, 2021 disturbance at the Capitol.

“Nancy Pelosi was in charge of security. She turned down 10,000 soldiers. If she didn’t turn down the soldiers, you wouldn’t have had Jan. 6,” Trump told NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker during a recent sit-down interview at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, as Fox News reported.

Trump refused to answer whether he called the military or law enforcement that day, stating, “I behaved so well, I did such a good job, Nancy Pelosi turned down 10,000 soldiers.”

Questioning Trump’s Claim

Welker questioned Trump’s assertion that Pelosi possessed the same authority as the commander in chief on the issue of the security of the Capitol.

“I understand that the police testified against her, the chief very strongly [testified] against her, the Capitol police, great people,” Trump said in the interview aired Sunday. “They testified against her, and they burned all the evidence. OK? They burned all the evidence. They destroyed all the evidence about Nancy Pelosi.”

“She has authority over the Capitol,” Trump added.  I asked her [for them] to be there three days in advance, and she turned it down.”

“She says that that request was never officially made,” said Welker, the newly minted program host.

Trump went on, saying “The mayor of D.C. gave us a letter saying that she turns it down. OK, we have it. Nancy Pelosi also was asked, and she turned it down. The police commissioner of Capitol police …” Trump continues as Welker attempted to interrupt him.

“Wait, a minute,” he pressed on, “Capitol police said that he wanted it, and Nancy Pelosi wouldn’t accept it. She’s responsible for Jan. 6. Nancy Pelosi’s responsible, and the Jan. 6 Committee refused to interview her,” he said.

“As our office has said before, the former president’s allegations are completely made up,” a representative for Pelosi told Fox News Digital, reacting to the interview. “As numerous independent fact-checkers have confirmed, Speaker Pelosi did not plan her own assassination,” the spokesperson added.

The Decision Making Process

The Capitol Police Board, which includes the sergeants at arms of the House and Senate as well as the architect of the Capitol, decides whether or not to request National Guard assistance for the Capitol. According to the Associated Press, the board initially agreed not to call the Guard prior to January 6, but did so after the riots had already began.

House sergeant at arms reported to then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, while Senate sergeant at arms reported to then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

The board members and former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund have given conflicting versions of who called for the Guard and when. The police chief and the two sergeants at arms resigned immediately following the assault. Pelosi was never subpoenaed by the Democrat-led House Committee on January 6.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Sund said that he had asked for help six times prior to and during the attack on the Capitol, but that each request had been ignored or delayed. He said House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving was reluctant to call up the National Guard because of the protests’ potential impact on the “optics” of declaring an emergency.

The 2024 Republican nomination for President of the United States could be an interesting race, especially since former president Donald Trump far outpacing the contenders. Many within the Republican Party are split on whether or not Trump should be the nominee.

Donald Trump remains popular among many conservatives. His policies have been well received by those who identify as part of this political ideology, particularly when it comes to economic issues such as tax cuts and deregulation.

This is evidenced by his consistently high approval ratings among Republicans throughout his presidency, despite facing numerous Democrat manufactured scandals and criticisms from both sides of the aisle.

During an appearance on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo, McCarthy expressed confidence that Donald Trump would prevail over all others in the nomination race.

“I think he will be the nominee,” McCarthy said about Trump. “The thing is, President Trump is stronger today than he was in 2016 or 2020, and there’s a reason why. They saw the policies of what he was able to do with America – putting America first, making our economy stronger.”

“We didn’t have inflation. We didn’t have these battles around the world. We didn’t look weak around the world,” he added.

“Well, it looks like Ron DeSantis is now trying to work with your colleagues who are pushing for a shutdown,” Bartiromo countered.

“I don’t think that would work anywhere. A shutdown would only give strength to the Democrats,” McCarthy noted, citing the political disadvantages he sees of an inability to fund the government. “It would give the power to Biden. It wouldn’t pay our troops. It wouldn’t pay our border agents.”

“I actually want to achieve something, and this is where President Trump is so smart — that he was successful in this.” McCarthy continued. “President Trump is beating Biden right now in the polls. He is stronger than he has ever been in this process, and, look, I served with Ron DeSantis – he’s not at the same level as President Trump by any shape or form. He would not have gotten elected without President Trump’s endorsement.”

While McCarthy’s comments do not amount to an official endorsement of Trump, they are a clear message of friendship to the former president. McCarthy had previously offended the Trump campaign with another television appearance in June.

In that instance, he told CNBC that he was not sure whether Trump was the best candidate to defeat Biden. He soon apologized to Trump and recanted, sending out an email fundraiser declaring Trump to be “the STRONGEST opponent to Biden.”

According to the most recent surveys, Trump is continuing to gain on President Joe Biden and has even surpassed him in some polling.

Not only has Trump’s polling numbers rocketed since he was hit with four indictments in New York, Washington, D.C., Fulton County, Ga., and southern Florida, but he is now moving past Biden in critical swing states, according to a new survey.

“The states that had the narrowest margin of victory for either candidate last cycle were Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, with Biden winning all but North Carolina. Across those key swing states, Trump is ahead of Biden 41% to 35%, and 24% of voters remain undecided, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll,” The Daily Caller reported.

“Among independent voters, the former president also held a slight advantage over Biden, according to the poll. Trump received 32% support among independents compared to Biden’s 30%, and 38% were undecided. Uncertain voters favored Biden over Trump at 49% to 38%,” The DC noted, citing the survey.

In a hypothetical head-to-head contest for the 2024 election, Biden and Trump are deadlocked at 39%, as per the survey. Many voters cited concerns about the president’s age, along with worries about the economy and crime, as significant factors influencing their choice.

Meanwhile, Trump was leading his likely Democratic rival in several swing states, according to polling data from Echelon Insights in July.

The survey “found that 48% of respondents in swing states would probably or definitely vote for Trump, compared to just 41% for Biden. Though Biden is narrowly favored overall by likely voters, with 43% favoring him compared to 42% for Trump, the Republican front-runner could win 270 Electoral College votes by seizing the swing states,” the Washington Examiner reported.

Rumors have been circulating about mRNA vaccines in livestock.  Fact-checkers have been scoffing, but what’s really going on?  Could we be eating animals that have been treated with mRNA?  How do we know what’s in the meat at our grocery store?

PORK: Yes, it’s probably been treated with mRNA.

Unfortunately, if you’ve been eating pork from the grocery stores, even organic pork, it’s probably been treated with mRNA because pork producers have been using mRNA products since 2018.  Merck’s SEQUIVITY platform is used with different sequences of various porcine diseases, including swine flu, to get immune responses in pigs.

Interestingly enough, sow mortality rates have increased slightly, from 11.1% in 2017 to 12.6% in 2021.  However, raising animals in large quantities is very complex; increased mortality could be linked to countless factors, and many producers admit they don’t have enough qualified employees to pay optimal attention to animals.   The only certainty here is, new pharmaceutical products have not been a magic bullet for the pork industry’s problems.

I guess we, as a society, don’t have enough money for more agricultural and veterinary workers so that hog farmers can optimally monitor the pigs that will become our food.  And yet, it’s still full steam ahead with ever-more-complicated bioengineering solutions.  A few months ago, GenVax Technologies, a startup that wants to bring self-amplifying mRNA (saRNA) technologies to animal health, received $6.5 million to begin producing vaccines 100% specific to African Swine Fever variants that may be circulating in pork herds.  There always seems to be enough money for mRNA.

Sound familiar?

If this sounds similar to a product widely used on humans the past few years, that’s because it is.  As in human mRNA treatments, Merck claims that the RNA can’t replicate itself and only lasts a short time in the animals’ bodies.  They also say that animals do not shed any RNA particles.  Given the wide range of findings in humans after mRNA treatments, however, I think the public has reason to be skeptical.

Now, my first thought when I heard about this was disbelief.  Ed Dowd’s Cause Unknown gives very detailed evidence of increasing death rates from the past two years; I couldn’t imagine anyone responsible for livestock trying out a product with so much potential to negatively affect profit margins.

But most people dying from “unknown causes” have not been dropping dead immediately after receiving medical treatments.  Many deaths occur weeks or months later.  Age dates for pig slaughter vary somewhat, depending on what the pigs are wanted for, but typically range between 4 and 10 months.  Pigs’ natural lifespans, however, are between ten and fifteen years, which means that the pigs used for meat are butchered early in their lives.  Who knows what we’d see if the pigs reached even 50% of their natural life span?

BEEF: It’s not treated with mRNA. YET.

Regarding beef, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association has pooh-poohed online talk about the potential for mRNA vaccines being used in beef.  They released a statement on April 5, saying, “There are no current mRNA vaccines licensed for use in beef cattle in the United States.  Cattle farmers and ranchers do vaccinate cattle to treat and prevent many diseases, but presently none of these vaccines include mRNA technology.”

Okay, but that’s as of April 2023.  As Dr. Robert Malone noted recently,  there are no transparency laws surrounding animal trials, which means facts and figures are hard to come by.  But we do know that German giants Bayer and BioNTech have been working together to develop mRNA vaccines for veterinary use since 2016.

What about chicken?

We know that there is international interest in using an mRNA template to develop a universal flu vaccine for humans, swine, and chickens

We know that there is an RNA vaccine licensed for conditional use in chickens to prevent bird flu.

Confusing, right?

With so much money being pumped into mRNA-related research, are we really supposed to think it’s just not going to go anywhere?  The biotech companies readily admit that they want to use mRNA technology to treat various zoonotic diseases and many people are not happy about it; why wouldn’t we all be complaining just because there’s not much licensed at the moment?

The industry does not want clarity.

When Holly Jones introduced Missouri House Bill 1169  there was industry pushback.  HB 1169 is a tiny little bill; all it does is mandate reporting on whether or not food products have been treated with gene therapy products.  Nothing is banned.  The bill simply empowers consumers to make the best choices for themselves and their families.

Free markets can’t function when people can’t make informed choices.  The past three years have made many people deeply distrustful of the expert class; they don’t want their food being tampered with.  They feel strongly enough about avoiding mRNA-treated meat to be willing to look around and shop carefully.  HB 1169 would give these people the knowledge to make informed decisions, and that’s exactly what the pharmaceutical giants and industry lobbyists don’t want.

Industry lobbyists want things to be vague.  They want the general public confused and willing to do whatever “the experts” tell them.

During the testimony hearing for HB 1169, industry representatives vehemently opposed the bill.  They did not treat any of the public’s concerns as legitimate but insisted that any regulation on biotechnology would make Missouri less competitive for industry.  They focused completely on how bad it would look if Missourians seemed skeptical about biotechnology, and how it would negatively impact business in their state.

This should really tell us everything we need to know about the push to get mRNA into our food.  It’s all about money for favored industries.  They don’t want independent producers providing high-quality food for their communities; they want everyone to be part of the same giant system.  This isn’t about health, it isn’t about the environment, it’s about generating new sources of revenue for biotechnology companies.

And they don’t want separate labels because, if something goes wrong and people do start getting sick, or the animals get sick, precise labeling would make it easy to pinpoint the problem.

This is yet another reason why you need to secure your food supply now.

We talk a lot about the importance of securing food supplies on this site, both to avoid novelty products like insects, and also for peace of mind.  This most recent revelation about pork products already being treated with mRNA and refusal by industry representatives to address anything other than how HB 1169 will affect the business community should serve as yet another wake up call.  We cannot assume anything we buy at the store has not been treated with novel pharmaceutical products.

I know some people will disagree about calling mRNA vaccines “novel products.”

“We’ve been researching mRNA for decades!”  I’ll hear.  We have not been ingesting these products for decades; we’ve been ingesting them for about five years, without our knowledge, and no one has been monitoring results.  This is not enough for me to be confident in their safety, and I don’t think it should be enough for anyone else, either.

I haven’t bought meat from the grocery store in a long time, mostly because I produce a lot myself.  Of course, meat production is not practical for everyone, but if it is an option for you, you need to think about it.

And if not, ask yourself, are there farms in your area committed to raising clean meat?  There might be. These types of places often have some kind of subscription service and are worth checking out.  Even if there is nothing very close, there are some places that ship.  Or it might be worth a road trip to get a year’s worth of meat.  If you don’t already have good meat sources, now is the best time to start looking for them.

If you live in Missouri, I hope you can raise public awareness about this bill.  For those of us that do not, we need to take responsibility for our food choices and start looking for meat sources outside the normal system.

In a serious blow to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, Judge Scott McAfee of the Superior Court of Georgia ruled that former President Donald Trump will not be required to stand trial in October alongside co-defendants Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell. The defendants had filed a “speedy-trial” motion for which McAfee granted relief by severing both Chesebro and Powell from Trump and the remaining sixteen defendants.

This ruling is seen as a major setback for the prosecution against Trump, whose legal team has now waived any rights they may have had to a speedy trial motion, and have also filed several motions to dismiss the charges against him.

The news was met with shock and surprise on social media, where ABC News reported Kyle Becker, host of “Relentless Podcast,” tweeting: “This is not a good day for the Fulton County DA.” As this case continues to unfold in court proceedings, many are eager to see how it will ultimately affect the future of former President Donald J. Trump.

“Fani Willis wasn’t there, but you got to imagine… she’s throwing things against the wall based on this hearing,” ABC News Executive Editorial Producer John Santucci told audiences.

He added that the ruling is “a great win for Donald Trump and others that did not want to be part of this speedy trial case.”

“I can tell you, sitting here with you, just texting with some of the attorneys involved in the other defendants, celebrating ‘Yay, victory!’” Santucci added.

In motions for the former president, Trump’s attorneys reportedly pressed a similar legal argument to one employed by former Trump attorney, now co-defendant Kenneth Chesebro. The attorneys representing him called the indictment from Wills “a conspiratorial bouillabaisse consisting of purported criminal acts, daily activities, and constitutionally protected speech.”

Chesebro’s team asked Judge McAfee to dismiss the entire case on the basis of the U.S. Constitution’s Supremacy Clause, arguing that the states cannot rule in controversies that lie in federal authority or “entirely within the ambit of federal authority.”

As noted previously by Conservative Brief, “Cornell Law School says the Supremacy Clause ‘establishes that the federal constitution, and federal law generally, take precedence over state laws, and even state constitutions.’”

NBC reported Thursday, “In adopting the motion to dismiss, Trump’s lawyers said Chesebro’s constitutional argument applied to the racketeering and other conspiracy-related charges against Trump. It was one of two Trump filings Monday that pertained to Chesebro’s earlier motions.”

The outlet added, “Attorneys for Trump took a similar approach Monday in adopting an earlier motion filed by former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani that would affect seven of the counts against Trump.”

In another blow to the efforts to prosecute Trump, Elie Honig, a legal analyst for CNN, even observed that the motion for  U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan to recuse herself from Trump’s Jan. 6 case may have merit.

Honig told CNN that Trump’s request is an “extreme longshot” legally but added that, given Judge Chutkan’s prior comments, it’s “not an outrageous motion.”

The motion for recusal was brought about by remarks made by Judge Chutkan during the sentencing of those convicted of being part of the Capitol attack on January 6. Trump’s legal team claims that these comments show a possible bias against the former president.

Honig told host Poppy Harlow, “So this is an extreme longshot, legally speaking. But you can see where Donald Trump’s coming from. It’s not an outrageous motion when you see various statements that Judge Charlton has made in the course of handling the prosecutions and sentencings of other January 6 rioters.

“She has said things that seem to pretty clearly suggest that she believed years ago Donald Trump should have been charged, should have been held accountable. And she was essentially making the point at these sentencings that, yes, you’re being prosecuted, rightly so, for storming the Capitol, but more responsible people are not,” Honig added.

Higher inflation means higher prices for everyone.

Over the last three years, we’ve witnessed inflation that is no longer graded against the Fed’s target of 2% but rather on how much better it is compared to the previous bad results. This is how a monstrous 4% inflation is spun as positive news by today’s corporate media.

Unfortunately, the latest data suggests a substantial increase in inflation.

This is especially worrying as the Federal Reserve has implemented rate increases during their battle with inflation for all but one cycle.

The combined effect of higher rates and rising inflation indicates that a worst-case situation may be on the horizon. However, those with physical precious metals may benefit from this turn of events as both gold and silver have managed to maintain their value despite the increasing dollar strength and rate hikes.

Historically, inflationary pressures have often been linked to an increase in value for precious metals.

Why does gold hedge against inflation? That’s a question for which there is no scientifically proven explanation beyond statistical observations, like the chart above, which confirms that the gold price and inflation are highly positively correlated over long periods of time.

The principles of economics can be used to explain the correlation between gold and inflation. Over extremely long periods of time – as in centuries – the increase in the supply of gold annually roughly is equal to the long-term growth in global economic output.

Over a time period of many centuries, both the supply of gold and the rate of economic output increased at approximately 3% annually. Issuing currency in varying units of denomination enables the use of gold as a reserve asset against the issuance of that currency by creating “fungibility” of the central bank gold that backs the currency issued by that bank.

Constraining the growth in the supply of currency to the amount of gold that is produced and can be used to back currency, limits the ability of central banks and governments to “oversupply” currency.

However, since 1971, when the gold-backing of the U.S. dollar as the global reserve currency was completely removed, there have not been any real constraints on currency creation.

Since 1971, periods of price inflation have become problematic and it is during those periods when the price of gold not only has served as an inflation hedge but also has outperformed the rate of inflation.

Because the rate of return on gold has lagged behind the rate of inflation over the last couple of years, it suggests that investing in gold now offers an opportunity to use gold, and silver, as both an inflation hedge and a total rate of return investment asset.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has ruled that Special Counsel Jack Smith cannot access most of Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Scott Perry’s cell phone records as part of his investigation into the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. The court determined that doing so would violate Perry’s immunity under the “speech and debate” clause of the Constitution, which protects legislators while they are performing their official duties from legal action by the Executive Branch representatives or other employees.

This clause was established to protect Congress members when performing their legislative duties, such as voting on bills or speaking in debates, without fear of retribution or investigation by outside sources. This allows lawmakers to engage in unfettered discussion regarding policy matters without fear of being held personally liable for any actions taken during those conversations or debates.

The court ruled that Smith did not have a valid reason to access Perry’s cell phone records because it would infringe upon this constitutional immunity and thus should not be granted access unless he can provide further evidence indicating why he needs to view them specifically related to his investigation into the Jan 6th riot incident at the Capitol building.. The ruling is expected to set a precedent for future cases where special counsels attempt to gain access to congressional records in order to investigate possible criminal activities involving elected officials.

“While elections are political events, a member’s deliberation about whether to certify a presidential election or how to assess information relevant to legislation about federal election procedures are textbook legislative acts,” U.S. District Judge Neomi Rao wrote in the opinion issued last week.

“A three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals concluded that prosecutors’ effort to access the cellphone communications of Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) with colleagues and executive branch officials violated his immunity under the Constitution’s Speech or Debate clause, which shields members of Congress from legal proceedings connected to their official duties,” Politico reported.

“We disagree with the district court’s holding that informal factfinding is never a legislative act. But we also reject Representative Perry’s proposition that informal factfinding is always a legislative act,” Rao wrote, according to POLITICO.

The higher court returned the case to Howell for her to apply the new rules to her original decision, the outlets reported.

“The decision breaks new ground in a decadeslong tug-of-war between Congress and the executive branch. For the first time, an appeals court has held that lawmakers’ cell phones are subject to the same protections as their physical offices. And it is the first significant legal setback for Smith in his bid to obtain evidence about involvement by allies of then-President Donald Trump in his effort to subvert the 2020 election,” the outlet noted.

Politico added: “It’s unclear whether Smith will appeal the decision to the full bench of the D.C. Circuit or to the Supreme Court. His office declined to comment, as it did last week when the court released an order broadly outlining the outcome of the fight.”

Earlier this week, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan fired off a letter to Smith requesting documents and materials after being accused of using illicit pressure tactics in his investigation and indictments of former President Donald Trump.

The Ohio Republican demanded materials relating to claims that one of Smith’s senior prosecutors “allegedly improperly pressured Stanley Woodward, a lawyer representing a defendant indicted by you.”

The charges of impropriety come from a meeting between Jay Bratt and Woodward, the latter of whom represents Trump aide Walt Nauta in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case. Bratt allegedly pressured Woodward “by implying that the Administration would look more favorably on Mr. Woodward’s candidacy for a judgeship if Mr. Woodward’s client cooperated with the Office of the Special Counsel,” the letter said, according to The Western Journal.

Jordan set a Sept. 21 deadline for Smith to comply with the chairman’s request.

“In November 2022, when your prosecutors were trying to secure the cooperation of Walt Nauta—who is alleged to have ‘move[d] boxes of documents’ at Mar-a-Lago—prosecutors, including Mr. Bratt, summoned Mr. Woodward to a meeting at the Department’s headquarters for ‘an urgent matter that they were reluctant to discuss over the phone,’” Jordan said in the letter, which was obtained by Just the News.

“When Mr. Woodward arrived, Mr. Bratt threatened him that Mr. Nauta should cooperate ‘because he had given potentially conflicting testimony that could result in a false statement.’ Mr. Bratt commented that he did not take Mr. Woodward as a ‘Trump guy’ and indicated that he was confident that Mr. Woodward ‘would do the right thing,’” the letter continued.

Doctors are warning popular drugs taken for weight loss, such as Ozempic and Wegovy, may include the risk of life-threatening complications under anesthesia.

Patients who take drugs like Wegovy or Ozempic for weight loss may face life-threatening complications if they need surgery or other procedures that require empty stomachs for anesthesia.

This summer’s guidance to halt the medication for up to a week may not go far enough, officials said. “This is such a serious sort of potential complication that everybody who takes this drug should know about it,” Mr. Hobai, who was among the first to flag the issue, told The Associated Press this week.

Mr. Hobai suggested that individuals taking the drugs first tell their doctors before sedation and discuss the risk profile. “If you’re taking this drug and you need an operation, you will need to have some extra precautions,” he said.

It’s not clear how many patients taking the anti-obesity drugs may be affected by the issue. But because the consequences can be so dire, Mr. Hobai and a group of colleagues decided to speak out. Writing in the Canadian Journal of Anesthesia in mid-July, they called for the drug to be stopped for even longer—about three weeks before sedation.

That accounts for how long semaglutide, the active medication in Ozempic and Wegovy, remains in the body, said Dr. Philip Jones, a Mayo Clinic anesthesiologist who is also deputy editor-in-chief of the journal. “When 90 percent of it is gone, which is after three weeks, hopefully everything should go back to normal,” Mr. Jones said.

Several weeks ago, the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) said that people who take GLP-1 agonists like Wegovy or Ozempic every day should stop taking the drugs on the day of their surgery.

That guidance was disseminated after “many reports from medical literature and anesthesia leaders about people who fasted but still vomited either going to sleep or waking up from anesthesia,” said Dr. Ronald L. Harter, the incoming president of the ASA and a professor of anesthesiology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

“This was very concerning and something we needed to address and communicate to the public like we are doing right now,” Mr. Harter told ABC.

Anesthesiologists have long discouraged patients from drinking or eating before surgery to ensure the stomach is empty to reduce the chance of vomiting during the procedure.

“This is really a fairly unique situation where you have a relatively new class of drugs that are very, very quickly being taken up by and are being used by a fairly significant portion of the population,” Mr. Harter said. “One of the potential side effects of these medications is to delay gastric emptying, which has a unique risk or potential for aspiration for patients undergoing anesthesia. It was a combination of all those factors that really prompted us to give guidance, really to our anesthesiologist and to our patients who are on these medications.”

The group stated that if the patient is having symptoms such as vomiting, bloating, abdominal pain, or nausea, doctors should consider delaying the surgical procedure.

Several weeks ago, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) said it was investigating a connection between Ozempic and Wegovy and suicidal thoughts. About 150 reports of possible cases of self-injury among people taking semaglutide GLP-1 agonists were flagged.

Sales of semaglutide products—particularly Ozempic—have soared in the past few years after the drug was shown to spur fast and significant weight loss. The drugs manufactured by Novo Nordisk include the brands Ozempic and Rybelsus, which are approved to treat diabetes, and Wegovy, which is approved by the FDA to treat obesity.

Earlier this year, Novo Nordisk promised to boost its supply of Wegovy. However, in the company’s first-quarter earnings report, the firm said that it would “temporarily” reduce U.S. supply.

Demand for the medications has outstripped supply. As of May, Ozempic and Wegovy remain on the FDA’s list of drug shortages. When drugs are in short supply, compounding pharmacies are permitted to produce versions of those medications.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2014 approved semaglutide for weight loss among overweight or obese individuals with high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol.
