During its grand 107-night world voyage, the luxury ocean liner Queen Victoria was hit by an outbreak of an unidentified gastrointestinal illness.
A total of 129 passengers and 25 crew members experienced symptoms like diarrhea and vomiting.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently revealed that the illness has been spreading on the ship since it departed from Southampton, U.K., on January 11, with its final destination set for April 24.
The ship’s itinerary includes stops at various exotic locations such as Cape Town, South Africa, and Hong Kong, China.
When the Queen Victoria arrived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on January 22, the CDC started monitoring the health situation remotely.
The renowned Cunard Cruise Line operates the Queen Victoria which departed from San Francisco, California on February 7 and reached Honolulu, Hawaii on February 11.

In response to the outbreak, Cunard Cruise Line has enhanced its onboard cleaning and disinfection procedures, quarantined individuals who are unwell, and informed both current and upcoming passengers and crew members as part of their outbreak prevention and management strategy.
Cunard Line acknowledged the situation in a statement to the New York Times, confirming the implementation of heightened health and safety protocols to safeguard everyone on board. The company affirms that these measures have effectively contained the issue.
Despite the outbreak, numerous passengers interviewed by NBC Bay Area at the ship’s San Francisco port stop displayed little apprehension according to Global News reports.
Several travelers expressed their intent to remain on board for the duration of the journey despite the circumstances. The Queen Victoria is currently hosting over 1,800 passengers alongside nearly 970 crew members.
The CDC advises cruise passengers to exercise caution in unfamiliar settings, particularly where large gatherings occur.
They stress frequent handwashing, proper hydration, adequate rest, prompt reporting of illnesses, and self-isolation as crucial steps in preventing further transmission.

Do not know of any normal person who would trust the CDC or any other government agency since they were proven to be lying all through the last medical emergency and people died by not taking medications that were actually were safe but for political reasons were told they were not.
